you should try watching Bokurano then. It's even more ****** . pretty much the same concept of Madoka, but it was done before madoka was even though of, which is why madoka is considered better becasue it did somethings differently.
whats that first anime and does it contain annoying amount of plot and backstory?
It's a typical romantic comedy. It was enjoyable if you like romantic comedies.
Unfortunately not for a while, unless they intend to deviate heavily from the manga like FMA did their first time around.
What happened in the anime covered up to chapter 30, and 42 was just recently released.
Of course I still prefer the manga because Yuki doesn't end up realizing what's going on, she hasn't really come to terms with any of the deaths yet, she just thinks she graduated and moved on from high school.

Holy **** I just watched that last week.
And I was not disappointed. So I read the manga. There's not enough. There's never enough.

Ok, story time.
I spent 6 years as a non-japanese hikikomori after graduating in college and not finding a job in my field (computer science, 3rd world country). I watched many animes during that time, spent a lot of time on the internet, watching movies, playing video games, and convincing myself that I'm teaching myself additional programming skills on my own so that I can find a job abroad. Of course, soon I lost site of what I was trying to achieve, I had no plan, no schedule, no clear idea of what exactly I was trying to do. I was getting older and older, pressure from my family increasing, but now that I think about it, I was in my comfort zone.
Unfortunately, this period of my life which I honestly miss now ended abruptly and not so happily - I took the keys of my father's car to a nearby location and on the way had an accident that resulted in the death of some 15-year-old kid. The family had to pay 106'000 JD (~$150'000) to the family of the killed kid in compensation. I spent a month in the hospital, after which the weight of the debt prevented me from the luxury of not having to work, if I were to consider it a luxury.
That was back in 2009. Now I'm married, but still in debt, and I'm about to release my second art-related software to the public, so my hikki-time was not completely wasted.
6-year hikikomori, 10/10 would do again.
