They can't do a season 2 until Murata finishes redrawing the Garou saga. He's, like, maybe 1/6th through it right now, but he's adding content to it too so it may be even longer than that before it's completed. Unless they decide to animate ONE's version, which will cause a ********* among the people who only hopped onto the hype train because the anime looks cool rather than because they've read both versions, the second season won't happen until like 3 years from now. It's Attack on Titan all over again.
