Semi OC, don't care. The point here is that there isn't any new freaking originality in some of the recent anime! There all harem's, or semi-harems that have been sliding ever closer to real hentai. And any of the ones that may have been good due to good story writing, originality in story, plot, or intense action, is over shadowed by so much Ecchi that I could swear that I was watching a porno. Just asking, why does it seem that only just now is everyone on FJ getting into Mirai Nikki? It's two years old, you'd think most of the anime fans among us would have seen it by now.

Gotta agree. There is too much ecchi harems these days.
People say ripping/piracy/fansubs are killing the anime industry, when in fact what's killing the anime industry is the constant deluge of dumbed down ecchi shit with no substance or originality. For the last few years, every great anime - 'great' as in the likes of Puella Magi Madoka, Toradora, Mirai Nikki, Steins;Gate, Hellsing Ultimate, FMA Brotherhood - there's been a hundred generic ecchis or generic harems that whilst can be enjoyable, aren't special, and are just the same old same old
The sad thing is that when an anime isn't an ecchi, it still doesn't get the recognition it deserves. Series like Ookami-san to Shinchinin Nakama-Tachi or Hidan no Aria were very good, but because they weren't 'amazing' they were either laregely ignored (Ookami-san) or completely lambsted (Aria)
Seems that for an anime series to get a good reception these days, it either has to be unquestionably godly or 'just another harem'. If a series at least tries to be different or interesting, without being a contender for anime of the year, it just gets discarded
TL;DR the anime industry needs to un-fuck itself and stop the ecchis and invest more in better series
Case and point; Dog Days gets a season 2, but Spice and Wolf has been MIA for over 3 years... The fuck anime industry?

dude, they've made those anime since the change of millenium, nothing new on that front... the worst possible combo though as you mention, MUST be seikon no qwaser... fucking epic concept, but ruined so much by the level of ecchi in it
