Why would you cry after L's death? I mean, he was cool and all, but I really supported Light in the anime. I did laugh my ass off when Light died though...

Light was a dick who thought killing people by the hundreds if not thousands would create a fear-based utopia. Not sure if you'd noticed, but fear based utopias historically don't work. In fact, a utopia cannot extend itself and its principles over more than two or three countries at most due to the differences in culture.

Well, did you notice that many people in that world supported him for his actions? And that the only ones who died were harsh criminals? Of course, he got a bit power hungry towards the end, but his initial concept was actually not that bad. I supported him because he was a better character than L too, in my opinion of course, not so much his view on the world.

I suppose you are right in that aspect. However, one could see Light's hunger for power coming a long way off. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. The Death Note is clearly the most absolute power one could have, and so corrupts the most absolutely. Nevertheless, the concept is decent enough. A decent work-around for the corruption and power hunger would be passing the Death Note off to a group that designates people who are good enough people to use it for a time without abusing the power. The selecting group should also be switched out regularly.

And to make the Death Note properly used; don't give it to the U.S... I see what you mean, but I don't think the anime, or manga for that matter, would've been as good if it weren't for the fact that Light got power-hungry. It would just be one of those neverending animes like Naruto or Fairy Tail, which I am not fond of

True. In the name of entertainment, this was better.

i guess i liked both of them equally and liked it when they interacted with each other. also after L died, i hated the everything after it. i hated N, hated the ending and hated how lame it became.

The ending in the Anime is very different from the manga... In the manga, he just dies on the spot lol, and also, I liked Mihael, but Near was just a little piece of ****.

Yeah that is actually cool. I also read The L.A.B.B Murder Cases, but I never finished L change the WorLd... I've watched the Live action movies too, and they show a pretty decent adaptation of the story too.
