But not in video games. In video games that would be sexist.

I watched Neon Genesis after seeing many complaints about Shinji being a bitch but i honestly thought everything he was whining about was justified with his age, personality, and emotions being what they are. I think Shinji is a perfect character because he isn't a glorified Badass, he's a kid, with the mind and emotions and fears that a kid would have, the biggest one being left alone. Whatever
I am ready for red thumbs/ ****** counterarguements

Asuka is worst child.

In the end, I liked Shinji - he was a normal person, totally believable. Not in the End as in End of Evangelion, I thought him jacking over Asuka was ****** up, but the end of the series.

Though, Rei is best because she is Rei.

Anime is an inferior genre American TV is far superior.

And then Rebuild 2.0 happened.
Or as I like to call it: Shinji finds his spine and ruins everything

I think Demo D said it best.

Shinji is what happens when you cut Noriko's hair and give her a penis, but don't explain how to use it.

I'm new to Evangelion I started to watch the original series and its pretty good. I'm just wondering if I should keep watching the original or watch the rebuilds.
So like what is better in everyone's opinion.
The Rebuilds or the Original?

Woah there buddy.
You gotta Finnish up the original seeing as you started them. All the way to End of Evangelion.
The Rebuilds are a simplified/modified telling intended for new/younger viewers.

Same can be said about this anime. 46+ episodes of frustration.

Can somebody explain to me what the ******* point of Evangelion is? I tried to start reading in once, but I lost interest. Is it actually worth looking into, or is it actually as bad as some people say? Or is it actually as good as some people say? Can someone please just explain to me what the **** is going on?

Try to watch it before anyone told you what to think about the anime. Make your own taste on what you wat, no on what people tells you.

The basic, initial, plot goes thus: a 14-year-old boy named Shinji is called to NERV (an organization charged with defending mankind from extinction, no less) by his estranged, seemingly cold and calculating father. There, his fathers' first words are an order to pilot an immense robotic machine, the titular Evangelion, and fight against the monster that's attacking Tokyo-3, the city under which NERV has it's headquarters. These illusory 'monsters' are called Angels and are seemingly invincible - traditional weaponry, even in the year 2015, has minimal effect upon them. Only the Eva 'biomechs', which can be piloted solely by certain selected 14-year-olds can stop them. This is merely the basic, initial premise of the series. As it goes on, everything gets a lot more complicated; There's a metric ton of mystery, suspense, twists and turns in Evangelion's plot, all routinely thought-provoking and intensely interesting.
