super saiyan 3 is more like an upgrade from super saiyan 2, except it uses more energy to sustain it

I think it's actually called ascended saiyan. Not ultra super saiyan.

The name given to it in Japanese guidebooks is Super Saiyajin Dai Ni Dankai for the form that Vegeta used against Cell and Super Saiyajin Dai San Dankai for the super buff one Trunks did. Those do basically translate to Super Saiyan Stage 2 and Super Saiyan Stage 3 but they're totally different than Super Saiyan 2 and Super Saiyan 3.

I guess one way to think of it is that Dai Ni Dankai and Dai San Dankai are the second and third stages of the first form of Super Saiyan.

Then of course Son Gohan actually achieves the second form of Super Saiyan, which is originally just called a Super Saiyan that has gone beyond Super Saiyan. Goku was the one who gave it the nickname Super Saiyan 2 when he explains it to Babidi and Majin Boo and introduces Super Saiyan 3.

No. There's Super Saiyan, Ascended Super Saiyan and Ultra Super Saiyan. The normal one was used against Freeza; Ascended was used during the cell games by the Saiyans and Ultra was used by Trunks, also shown used by Goku in time chamber which sacrifices speed for power unlike Ascended where it is balanced.

Ultra Super Saiyan is the form Future Trunks assumed when he bulked up alot.

the one vegeta uses against semi-perfect cell is called acended super saiyan or super saiyan 1 2nd stage. The one where trunks buffs up to agianst perfect cell has been named by the fans Ultra super saiyan or super saiyan 1 3rd stage, It trades speed for power and couldnt even land a hit on cell

Ascended saiyan is actually SSJ2. Goku explains that to Majin Buu before going SSJ3.

Vegeta and Future Trunks both had a fail version Super Saiyan 2, which gave them the power, but lacked speed. A little bit after Gohan beat Cell, Vegeta managed to get it right without any help. Majin Vegeta was more powerful than SS2, but not enough to be another level

they were not failed stages. it was a sub stage in between ssj1 and ssj2 its just stage 2 ssj1. one reason why trunks was called super trunks.

Well, hardly anything that happened in GT actually matter, because it's non-canon. It was not written by Akira Toriyama, he only oversaw the series' progress and drew some sketches of Giru and scenes of Goku, Pan and Trunks visiting different planets.

No... he reached SS2 Before he let Babidi possess him.. Becoming Majin just made him a little stronger and released the evil in his heart.

Well that's a endless debate, there was never any full-proof that he was able to go SSJ2 before or after he became Majin.

There are a few distinct differences between SSJ1 and SSj2.. SSj2's hair is more golden and has more rigid spikes... I can't remember exactly but i believe there was a time when he went SSJ2 before becoming majin... But either way he was SSJ2 during Kid Buu (which i know was after majin) but he didn't need to be majin to do it where as he needed the blutz wave machine to achieve SSJ4

I do realize the differences between SSJ1 and SSJ2 also you forgot that SSJ2 has lightning around it as part of the aura. Also he lost the Majin mark from killing himself and as for him going SSJ2 when fighting Kid Buu i assume that since he went SSJ2 before while he was in the Majin form he was able to tap into the power because of it.

Then he should've been able to do the same with SSJ4. even goku asked him

as far as reaching super saiyan by means of something other than your own power i don't think vegeta was ever able to reach any level of super saiyan without doing it all by himself.

Yes but you must realize that they were low on power at that point and i believe Gohan, Goten, Trunks and Uub gave Goku more power. Also i tend to stay away from GT's logic since it's not canon and they did change things that were set in stone before.

I like to think of GT as half canon because akira toriyama did play a small part in making it... He wasn't in charge like with DB/Z but he did have some say. And as for power wise they gave goku more power just before Vegeta showed up... So him and vegeta would've been equal on power at that point since they had been fighting the same amount of time. It wasn't until after that they all gave goku power for his super spirit bomb.

Well this has gone long enough, i say believe what you want to believe. If there's holes to a show fill them in with your own ideas.

I think to turn super sayian 4 they need to turn into the monkey then turn super sayian then turn back normal. so the machine didnt turn him super sayain, just acted as a moon so he could transform into the monkey. at least that was my understanding when i saw the show
