My mom is pretty awesome about these things. She's perfectly fine with my obsession with anime and manga, she knows and understands most memes (Achievement Unlocked: Successfully Explained Memes to Parent), she knows what 4chan is (and to stay away from it), she knows what Bronies are (and constantly trolls me asking if I've watched MLP yet)... Heck, she even reminds me to play my videogames if I have ignored them for a while. She's even openly said that if I ever decide to smoke marijuana: she's fine with it... as long as I pay for it myself.

While I wouldn't be particularly proud of my kid for smoking and drinking (It's not bad if you know how to control yourself, that's the problem with kids) anyways, I wouldn't be proud of one who instead of experiencing life sat around watching foreign cartoons all day.

Well, you are unlucky my friend. This is what I do, yet my mother couldn't be prouder. Mostly because my grades are good and I will graduate high school already having a degree in Business.
