I mean there's a number of good animes that are recommended often. Death note is probably the best entry level, (I mean like, in comparison to **** shows like AOT and SAO), and there's always classics like ttgl, evangelion, cowboy bebop, etc. Sure you may have to wade through some **** but a decent amount of people won't give you **** when asked for good recommendations, and reviews are always your friend.

Imho, it's just another ****** harem anime. I like monstergirls myself, but the only way to properly put them into an anime and please everyone is to make it a harem and have a girl for every niche. A ****** compromise imo.
