The imagine breaker has to be one of the most satisfying powers in any anime I've seen.
I mean sure, it looks cool to have big flashy powers being used, but there's something special about going up against someone indestructible or whatever, and rendering them temporarily into a normal, squishy human for the duration of punch to the face.

I guess it falls in line with that whole "what's a god to a non-believer?" thing.
The IB brings everyone down to a normal, no "supernatural ******** " fight.

The anime is called to aru magic index and the main character who's punching everyone name is touma.

The series is well known for touma's gender equality, he doesn't hold back when he's fighting a female because most of the have powers that can kill him instantly and the only thing he can do is punch back. It's funny because most other writers are pussies that hate it when their self-righteous main characters rightfully fight back against women.

The light novels (In my personal opinion) are way better than the anime. I watched the anime first, and while I had fun it couldnt compare to the storytelling in the novels. In addition to that, before JC Staff decides that they actually want money and makes the third season, the light novels are the only thing that continues the story. The manga is nowhere near where the anime ended so dont even bother. gif related

The main character from Toaru Majustu no Index is known for winning his fights with a gnarly right haymaker, regardless of the age or gender of his opponent. The only person he's never used it on is the girl in the last panel.

A lot. Like, a lot a lot.
Here's a powerlevel chart so you can see how far the rabbit hole goes.

I'll say a few spoilers for the esper side, since that's more interesting.

As you can see, Misaka isn't even the third strongest level 5, despite being rank three.
This is due to the fact that Gunha (who is probably at least the third strongest) has a completely undefinable power that he himself barely knows how to use effectively. Rainbow explosions, some weird-ass fusion of super speed and teleportation. Also, he can punch energy. Like, punch out fires, punch lighting out of the way. Stuff like that. Also, he caught the railgun coin in his teeth.

Rensa exceeds normal level fives because she can copy the power of any level five (except Gunha, 'cause as I said, no-one knows how he does anything). She can also copy the power of anyone within 200 meters or something. She tried to copy touma's and her arm blew up.

Hamazura is a level zero with incredible luck. Like, the exact opposite of Touma on the luck scale. He has survived multiple fights with mugino. Mugino from railgun seaon 2. The "I fire lasers out of anywhere in my general vicinity" Mugino. He won. more than once.
She now has a prosthetic arm.

Misaki (the mind control girl) may have some past with touma. The synopsis for the upcoming chapter says it'll be about their past. Maybe she'll help fix his memories or something.

Level 5 number six still hasn't been revealed.

Himegami's power is to kill vampires, and yet even up to now not a single vampire has shown up or even really been mentioned, so she still is useless.

Ok, I stopped watching this before it got to Oriana, and I stopped on good terms, but it really rustled my jimmies that he abused his power to the point that I was cheering for every villain they came across. I mean, I know there's beauty in simplicity, especially something like a punch rendering a person's powers useless, but he literally did NOTHING else and it pissed me off that it worked every time.
Best example was when he fought Accel. Guy that controls the entirety of the physical world? Punch that **** .
I swear if he could he'd punch his breakfast to eat it

tl;dr? The punching **** pissed me off

What order is one supposed to watch Index/Railgun in? I've been wanting to watch the series but I don't wanna ruin the experience by watching in the wrong order.
User avatar #21 to #19 - goldenfairy (08/15/2014) [-]
First half it's the same story from different character's perspective, however I think Index had way better character introduction, in Railgun they just pop up; guess it expects you to know the story.

I really don't lime Mikoto and Touma being a thing. love both characters separately but them getting together makes me wanna throw chunks. Really hope it doesn't go that way come the second season.
#6 to #4 - warlordtitan ONLINE (08/15/2014) [-]
there is already a second season for magical index
