I think you are right to an extent. But there is a very distinct line between Fiction and reality. The same way someone who likes Futanari has to be atleast a little gay, but may never want actual dick. The same way people who play GTA don't actually go murder people. Enjoying something in fiction != to enjoying something in reality.

As you've said, only some might be driven to do it in reality. Pedophilia isn't their main problem. If manga drove them to do it, their problem is inability to distinguish reality and fiction. I can't provide you any smart numbers, but I'm sure you can imagine how many actual pedophiles read loli manga. It's rather small percent of them.

So loli manga might drive someone to raping children, but it's as probable as The Dark Knight turning someone into Joker. In this case, all fiction depicting immoral behavior is evil.

Thinking about how it is with video games and movies... You've got a strong point there. Playing a violent game or watching a violent movie does not turn me violent. But I can't help to feel more sick when I hear about a child who got raped then when I hear that somebody was murdered. So I guess it has more social load.

Correction: It actually is illegal depending on your state, back in 1996 the supreme court ruled that artificially created or 3d renderings do not qualify as persons, but they allowed the government at state level to decide on what to do with the legality of it.

Not quite sure on the remember the number or which (its close to half, but i Believe its either 26 states allow it, or made it illegal
