I never got around to watching Clannad since it seemed like Moses parted their eyes.

Even though I like it, I now see how people who don't watch Anime get tired of it.

Just a quick question.
Spoilers ahead, just letting you know-
The second series, isn't all of it a illiusion? I mean, in the last epsiode, witchcraft happens, and his wife survives th labor, so.. Any people smarter than me to edudicate this lost soul? Also, if it all is a illusion, then in theory, you could watch only the last episode to avert most of the feely feels, and you wouldn't miss most of the story, if i am right.

Any answers are appreciated.

I might be able to explain it to you in a pretty clear way, but I'm going to get a bit into context and probably spoil the subplot that's the mystery of the entire show.

In the second world there's the spirit embodiment of Ushio and the robot would be Tomoya. From the very beginning of the show she's introduced as a character, but her purpose in the show isn't actually known until the very end when she builds her helicopter thing. You see, the entire AS actually happens in the show, but Ushio manages to undo it by collecting all of the floating orbs in the world, creating a wish strong enough to undo everything so her and her family can all live happily. Every time you see a glowing orb in Clannad it's related to a wish and whenever enough orbs gather that wish is granted.

Wait, i thought Tomoya who collected the orbs, he gathered 13 of them.

My guess is that it was a joint effort. I'm going to rewatch the entire series soon as well as the movie, so I'll make sure to read into a bit more in depth this time around.

The VN would probably be a much better source to confirm, but I'm not reading the whole thing again. Took me 70 hours of cumulative reading time to complete, maybe more. But from what i remember, there were only 5 more orbs to collect in afterstory, and he collected nearly all of them without Ushio.

Well, even if it was an illusion, which technically it wouldn't be, he still gained certain lessons from it and grew from it. And while you could skip a large portion of the second series, you would miss a great journey of loss, pain, regret, self discovery, and grief.
User avatar #136 to #135 - greenbob (01/25/2014) [-]
I see. Well, time to watch it again, Kanon wasn't enough as it seems.
anyway, thank you for your timely rescue of a lost soul. May the road be kind to you.
