The Death Note can only kill via reasonable means, where the means writtwn are unreasonable the cause of death is a heart attack; however, this fail-safe is ineffective were a heart attack to prove ineffective against Saitama - once again raisig the question "can it kill him, and if so, how?"

The "guaranteed" nature of the Death Note is dependent on a heart attack being fatal - there's no real reason to think that it would kill should a heart attack be incapable of killing the target.

The Death Note doesn't just "give" someone a heart attack. It states that the person "will die" of a heart attack. Unless the show uncovers some aspect where Saitama is actually a god, he would die. The Death Note is originally made for gods, not mortal men, which means that the power it has would exceed anything less than a god. "The person who's name is written in this book will die." That is the rule.

Saitama was punched so hard he went crashing into the moon, stood up, then jumped back to Earth; not sure we can assume he is mortal, given he should have been killed on at least three counts in that instance alone.

He's cleary not an ordinary mortal man, but we can't really say he is a god, and like I said, anything less than a god can die by the death note

You base everything on rules, which some Shinigami write, with those rules both being incomplete in terms of the Shinigami's knowledge (they purposefully hold back) and the incomplete knowledge of the Shinigami (Ryuk isn't sure about several things involving the Death Note, is surprised by some things such as being able to use a page that was torn out, etc.).

For all we know, Saitama has reached a level where he would probe yet another exception to the "rule" - although there's actually no rules, only a "how to use" guide, and the Shinigami will have written that in intending the user to write the name of "an ordinary mortal man".

Tl;dr The Death Note has so many exceptions that I don't buy the assertion it'd work when nothing else seems to work.

The way I see it is Saitama has to eat. He feels hungry, and that makes him human enough to be able to be killed by the Death Note.

That is true, however it's worth noting that heart-attacks are not always (and, in fact, when you get to a hospital or to proper medical treatment in time) rarely fatal, yet EVERYONE who had a heart attack induced by the Death Note died.

As it stands, that would mean it would somehow have to give Saitama a strong enough heart attack to kill him, which is possible because he IS still human, and if his heart doesn't work he WILL die.

if you don't write a cause of death it will just auto kill him so don't write down a scenario.

"Auto-kill" is via heart attack, refer back to my original post - the whole point is to stipulate that a heart attack wouldn't kill him; seems unreasonable, until you consider what else should have killed him yet didn't.

i imagine that a heart attack could still not kill a regualr human as technically they could have someone wuickly resusitate them, i imagine that it just keeps going until they collapse and die

so if it didnt kill him, itd be a constant heart attack in his body, his body would struggle to cope and it'd shut down he'd be completely ****** forever.

He is still organic though, if his heart stops, his body stops. A guaranteed heart attack from the Death Note would kill him, worst comes to worst, just write down that Saitama finds his own weakness and kills himself, if anyone has the power to kill Saitama, it's Saitama.

Well, Mumen Rider has accepted his limits. He stays in C-class, and his whole speech to the Deep Sea King is about how he knows he won't win but he has to fight anyways.

He knows he can't win because he just can't, but if the theory was true, he would have been stronger than Saitama and he would have won because he knew he could. The theory was that what you wish to achieve, you can, and Mumen rider wishes to be that strong, but he just isn't.
