To be honest, I was rather let down by Minato's and Kushina's backstory in the anime. There was WAY too much blabbering on while (SPOILER ALERT) They were both pierced by the 9tails claw. It was emotional at first but dragged on for so long it felt rather silly.
Still, Kushina was a great woman. :C
