Odds are the hat is a coincidence. It appears a chapter several arcs before Law's first appearance. The post is simply a theory. The idea that the character in the first chapter becomes law isn't possible unless there's some sort of age amplifying thingy mabob affected him, which I wouldn't put past Oda and I mean this in the best way possible. Either way great catch by OP.

In short, OP has nice eyes, but there needs to be an aging device to make it logical.
