The only person he really cared about was Guts, lots of homo implied, but Guts kind of cast him away. Which lead to Griffith ******* the princess, which lead to lots and lots of torture. Due to aforementioned torture Griffith probably went insane several times over and then demon/god/angel/ ********** ******** happened and it's not really surprising he went full on crazy.

But they either speculate that he still doesn't know what to do with the story or he's lost the will to work on it. Either way the current haitus is because of the anime coming out. "Resuming Summer 2016!". I read it in 3 days, so not nearly enough time until then.

It's because the author is also the artist (Kentaro Miura) he uses traditional methods to draw each panel, and he's kind of a perfectionist, also he is almost 50, but I'm sure he knows where the story is going. Heck if it takes a year for each chapter to be released it still is worth it since Berserk is so good.

Griffith killed all their friends with a demonic horde (very violent) and then raped casca and it was more the trauma of the whole thing that broke her mind. its just a really bad case of PTSD.
Apparently Casca was pregnant with Gut's child and the mark that they were branded with calls out to demons to kill them on a nightly basis. The mark really messed up their kid and he's now like a pseudo demon.

If you don't want to watch it, maybe you want to read it, as the manga is one of the best out there.It has an amazing art and one of the most inspiring and tragic stories. Anyway here is your spoiler if you still want itGriffith sacrficed all his comrades so he can become something like an evil god and in the process he raped his best friend's (Guts) girlfriend (Casca) in front of him just so he can piss him off more. This led to corrupting Gut's unborn child and Casca turning into a vegetable.

I saw her parents in the reception area her dad was happy to see me, I had to go check something, but thinking how lucky I was she was not taken from me. I came back right as she was being discharged only to find that I was in my bed the next instant, left alone and disappointed
