MRfunnyFACE (03/17/2015) [-] yea definitely. Honestly I didn't become my favorite anime until like episode 60ish. Thats a lot of time to wait for something to get good :/, but man is it worth it. The best episodes will make you laugh hysterically, cry like a bitch, and get pissed off enough to punch your computer all in one.

I'm not sure which bit you're at but you must be really far behind, I remember reading zangetsu was yhwach from 1000 years ago just under a year and a half ago, either you're really far behind or you skipped over it by mistake, idk haha

show is pretty much dicking around and all keks until you get to like episode 68 or some **** like that, from there its amazing action and great comedy. Funnier than One Piece, 9/10 recommended

Downside is you might not get some of the references if you haven't watched a lot of other stuff. Also, don't judge it on its first 5 or so episodes because it needs a while before it becomes the most hilarious **** since sliced bread. wait, no...

arghahaal (03/17/2015) [-] I don't know how many posts iv'e commented on about this but, Sorachi said hes making preparations for Gintama to end, it's not ending now but it will be getting ready to, he doesn't want to be making manga all his life, he wants to settle down and get married and start a family. It really is my favourite series but I can only really see it going for another year or so at max. I can't really see it going back to its pure carefree comedy episodes again, even though there are still some funny parts that make it through in the recent seriousness in the manga, I can't see them having whole episodes of it again. Now i'm just anxious to see if Sorachi will go down his own path with the series or historically as most of the characters are based on real people, if that's the case, some of the best characters are gonna go real soon.

The site has alot of anime that's high quality, if you're looking for other animus then just look here, also only use it if you have ad block because it's full of ads
Btw Gintama is a slow starter, most people end up dropping it or wanting to but just hang in there because it has many keks later on, also if you're looking for anything serious don't watch Gintama, it is a *********** of funny jokes and references without much of a storyline, you do get the occasional serious arc though.

It does have alot of ads but if you just use adblocker it's a really good website, has one of the biggest anime libraries I've seen, high quality, usually more than 2 or 3 mirrors, weekly anime comes out pretty quick, and has both dub and sub.

ichigoichie [OP](03/17/2015) [-] I used to use CR on my ipad when I first started watching anime, idk how I had the patience to sit through all the ****** ads, I remember some of them gave you a skip button but it didn't work so you'd sit there for about a minute and a half waiting.
The subs on that website are good in comparison then, although its got quite a few ads so I'm not sure how it'd be on your phone, I used it on my phone a few times a while ago and it only had one or two because it was only the mobile site, all the ads on the mobile site are on the actual website anyway so they don't interrupt the anime c:

Basically samurai country has been taken over by aliens called Amanto, the samurai basically got repressed and aren't allowed swords or anything, Gintoki the main character is a samurai who gives no ***** , he has two friends, Kagura and Shinpachi, who basically run an odd jobs shop where they take on any job for money, the story is basically them going on jobs and it's pretty funny, you get odd parodies and references pop up in the show like Eyeshield 21, Bleach, One Piece, Gintoki even reads Shounen Jump haha, I'd say you'd have to have watched a fair amount of anime to get the references. The show has no real plot to be honest, its just short stories filled with funny jokes and references, there is the occasional serious arc where you get to see Gintoki show off his dank samurai skills but other than that there's not alot of plot, just never ending comedy.
Just a word of warning, it's a very slow starter so try stick with it for atleast 10 episodes, I didn't find it overly hilarious until around episode 20 and I've known others who didn't enjoy it until the 30 episode point, its also an acquired humor too I guess.
