On "Respect for the Aged Day", tobacco companies will hand out free cigarettes to the elderly outside of the train stations and department stores because nothing says respect for the elderly like subliminally pushing them closer into their coffins.

The old Japanese language was a blend of ancient Korean and Jomon languages. Since the 6th century the lazy ******* took Chinese characters at used them in their language which makes them no better than those fake freedomers who did the same thing with the English language, don't mind me just sparking an argument for the comments the characters now amount to approximately half of the vocabulary in Japanese.

Little bit of backstory on these facts

The reason some melons can cost 50000 yen (just shy of $500) is because they're special, they go through tons of tests and are supposed to be the "perfect melon."

You actually can NOT smoke anywhere in Japan. Having visited and having been a smoker at the time there are designated areas, usually enclosed with air purifiers, in public places. You can, however, smoke in most restaurants and how you can tell is the first thing they give you is an ash tray, even before your drinks.

Fun fact about chopsticks, it is considered incredibly rude to point your chopsticks at anyone, even when they're laying down, and as such most japanese style tables do not seat anyone at the head or foot or are circular.

Also the Japanese girls IN japan are by far much more cute than the ones in the US.

Once my friend told me that Japanese men think you are gay if you don't smoke

i didn't even try and find an answer i just took his word for it
User avatar #48 to #4 - satansferret (03/23/2015) [-]
because if you're not orally fixated on cigarettes you're obviously smoking the dick.

I have a snaggle tooth and it makes me feel like a ******* hillbilly, I hate when I smile too wide in case people think I'm about to chase them down in a pickup. Why people would pay money to get one is beyond me... I'd love to be rid of mine!!
User avatar #71 to #42 - katoteshikumei (03/23/2015) [-]
I have two of them and i ******* hate it. Plus i live in the south so that makes the "feel like a hillbilly" thing worse.
