i have a really hard time imagining Pokemon with blood or even minimal gore

not visually. they really just destroyed the dialogue too. I'm pretty sure in japan, Ash is halfway decent instead of a complete twat

they actually banned an episode because there were a lot of guns...and one piece was horrifying with all the guns being turned into weird hammer things or squirt guns and the marines for some reason being renamed the Navy

i mostly agree, one piece has a great art style, it isnt exploding with crazy graphics like most animes and the art reminds me of childhood cartoons

Yeah, the art is intentionally designed so that no matter how serious things get or how brutal the battles become, there's always a bit of silliness or exaggeration to it that helps the audience relax.

But then you get certain slip ups where the scene is meant to be moving and the art makes it look ridiculous. >_>
