The anime as it stands right now is based off of the first 2 volumes, Aria in the Starless Night (2nd episode), and one chapter from volume 8 (5th and 6th episodes). The first volume opens with the people being trapped and then skips forward about 2 years to level 70ish were the bulk of the story takes place. The second volume is only side stories that take place within the two years. The producers are following chronological order making the show look like it is going too fast.
