If you really want to learn the language you can always take courses, like me.
But hey, I know people who learned Japanese just by watching anime.
I know for a fact that learning languages is possible like that because I learned German and English by watching cartoons.

Just watch subbed anime, you will pick up the basics for sure.

I've decided to take your advice, I'm downloading a full learning package from absolute beginner to advanced and I'm watching Hetalia, bleach, death note and a new one about sword fighting in a virtual world or something all subbed.
