I enjoy anime, I'm passionate about anime fans when I'm with other anime fans, and I keep to myself when I'm not. I think this is how you should be about everything you're a fan of.

"Claiming you are Japanese when you're not"
Do people really do that?
 Why....

I still don't get what the big deal is. To me, anime is just japanese cartoons. Mostly because it is. Just like there's different types of cartoons meant for different age groups, there's different kids of anime for different age groups, covering all the bases from "cute girls doing cute things" or "people flinging period blood at eachother until someone dies".

Was anyone else a little bit annoyed by how the post says "In RL" when IRL means In Real Life?

I liked the post and everything, it's just that bothers me for some reason...

I know exactly what you mean. I, too, dislike wearing open-toed shoes like flip flops or sandals, although I do own a pair of sandals for when I go to the beach.

"Liking japan not only because of anime, but culture + language"
If I like anime why should I like japanese culture and language? I just found that one weird

So....according to this I like anime correctly....

HAH TAKE THAT ANIME CLUB WAY BACK IN HIGH SCHOOL.

The "weeaboos" or weird overly obsessive anime lovers are why I don't go to any Cons, I just don't fit in well.

Can't I just watch anime and not have it be my lifestyle?
User avatar #153 - Emeexuqu (09/18/2013) [-]
This also applies to any ******* fandom anywhere, I can't even talk about most of the things I like because other people go ******* overboard with it, and make people who don't know about the series in question completely hate it.

All the Weeaboos in my college constantly smell of cat-piss, weed & sweat - they're disgusting.

That desudesu freak is just like this chick that stalks me to lunch despite the fact that I've told her on multiple occasions that I prefer to eat alone.
I don't even generally like anime, but she's constantly talking about it to me like she's gonna "convert" me or something. She's always wearing those cat ears and this fluffy tail thing and I'm 95% sure she bought out the entire planet's stock of anime pins.
And she's obnoxious and hugs me every time she sees me despite the fact that I am clearly not comfortable with it, and at one point she "glomped" me and I dropped all my **** .
And
She
Just
						*******
Left me
To pick it up myself.
She stood there and watched me pick it up while prattling on and on about how she's .00000002% Japanese.
Weeaboos do not strike my fancy.
Do not ******* shove your interests down my throat, it is not "sugoi"

This is stupid, because liking anime means you must also like the Language and the culture? I watch the subs over dubs for 2 reasons and thats because the dubs are usually **** /really far behind, if the dubs were the quality of voice acting in lets say LoK and they were released at the same time as the subs i'd 100% watch the dubbed version and anybody who says "You aren't a true anime fan if you dont watch the subs" is a stupid elitist prick. Have a nice day.

I worked "Security" (I use that term so loosely) at an Anime Convention in Florida, and I never realized how socially inept some kids are. I mean, the environment was conductive to the behavior, but I have never felt so ill while watching the antics of these people. I enjoy anime, I even read manga on my phone to pass the time, I've even made a few cosplay props for friends. I think Japan is an interesting place, but never will I ever act like some of those people, there was no restraint, no level of discipline or respect for their surroundings.
