My reason is that they waste so much ******* food, produce so much trash, and are completely insensible to buy "clever" (like products with less packaging). My ex-girlfriend was american, and her family was waisting a third of their food, I **** you not. Even if the food was good and they could eat more, they leave some food in their plates by principle. This was insane. I mean I´m french, and I know very few cases where its acceptable to ******* leave half of your food on the plate (except for allergies, or if you really really don´t like it), and we have to eat the rest of the sauce with bread.
Also they are so dumb at consuming. They buy many one portion products instead of a big pack, which creates trash and waste money. They were also complete victims of consumerism. They were buying so much **** , even stuff they didn´t like. I´m fine with that, but they were always complaining about money problems, of how poor they were, but kept on buying crap.
Since I´m in an international school, I have a friend who´s american too, and he acts the same, he buys all sorts of useless crap.
The worse was that this family was always complaining about global warming, and how big compagnies are evil, but they were financing them by buying their **** products, and never recycled, didn´t consume "clever" and always leaving all electronic devices and the lights on.
For me this is the true evil, everyone complaining about how bad others are and pollute, but won´t raise their little finger to act eco-friendly.

so the amount of people you're basing your assumptions on is your ex-gf's family which would most likely be 3-7 people and an american friend, a total of 4-8 people to generalize for the entire American population. Neil would be disappointed in your sample size

I would like to point out (as an american) that every line except for the last one only applies to certain Americans that the rest of us also hate. They are usually the "entitled ******** " branch of Americans.

I'm very firmly feeling your last two lines about these people.
