I have a shirt that says
"I don't speak japanese" in Japanese Kanji.

I don't wear it very often though because the collar is too tight.

You eat ass?
Or do you like ass?
Or do you like ass?
Or are you an ass?
User avatar #7 to #6 - Tusura (12/05/2015) [-]
Literally translates to "I eat ass"

Oh, I eat ass well.
Thanks.

the context wasn't there to drop the "Watashi", "Boku", or "Ore"; so it actually translates to "Ass-Eating" (except it isn't actually an action in Japanese, that's just the best translation in english).

It is often not necessary to use personal pronouns at all when speaking Japanese, and let the context demonstrate who is the subject.

and thus why I said "the context wasn't there to drop the "Watashi", "Boku", or "Ore";"

actually it says "I don't understand japanese"
User avatar #12 to #9 - unikornking (12/06/2015) [-]
Or even more specifically, "Japanese not understand"
#41 to #12 - buffalogriller (12/07/2015) [-]
But that's not how translation works, right? Doing a literal translation doesn't really work with japanese and english, as they are so different. ”日本語が分かりません” is grammatically correct, "Japanese not understand" is not. A japanese man hearing the japanese sentence will think "ah, yes, you don't understand japanese.", whereas an englishman hearing your translation will think "ah, yes, you're retarded.".

Yea, I was just taking it on a deeper level and showing what the exact word for word was. I still get pretty jarred when I see Japanese outside of the classroom and it doesn't have every word carried over in the translation, ie someone says はい and the eng subs read something like "Sure thing, Mother"

If you find yourself without your shirt around some slanty-eyed folks, it's pronounced "Nihongo wakarimasen"
#14 to #13 - Tusura (12/06/2015) [-]
That actually checks out.

I was scared for a second there.

Alternatively, you can say ”赤ちゃんを作りませんか” or "akachan o tsukurimasenka"
(Whenever you see someone write "wo" by itself, they're showing the "を" particle; you should pronounce it as "o")
#16 to #15 - Tusura (12/06/2015) [-]
And this is why I check.
User avatar #18 to #16 - dangler ONLINE (12/06/2015) [-]
It actually means "Do you want to make a baby"

Not 100% sure but the art style looks like Yakitate Japan, it's about a guy who loves bread and aims to become the god of baking or some **** , pretty good.
