Read the manga, it's triple the pace of the anime.

Why on earth would you want to watch it subbed? Gokus japanese voice is ******* horrible.

These dudes below don't know what the flying **** they're talking about. Goku is voiced by an 80 year old Japanese woman, that voice is absolutely dreadful. Dubbed is way better in this scenario.

Agreed, this is one of those shows where the voice acting really was better overall the second time around.

I usually like subbed better than dubbed also. With shows like FMA and One Piece, the subbed voices are way better than dubbed. But with DBZ that just isn't the case for most of the characters. At least in my opinion.

also because japanese version is usually way more accurate.. when they have to translate it, they have very little time to do an entire season, so it's usually full of mistakes.. unlike this, in japan they go for an episode a week, so they have much more time to make things properly.. furthermore sometimes they can't translate literally and they have to make them say different things in order to match the lips

No I agree. Subbed is typically better than dubbed.

That's why I said this is one of those shows...

On the whole I prefer subbed to dubbed. But there are occasions when it's better when redone. Personally I don't like Dragon Ball Z much subbed.

i don't know, i just know that the italian version is the worst.. they confuse names/tecniques/characters.. sometime they even changed the name of some characters.. other times, when they don't know how a tecnique is called, they just call it "onda energetica" that means something like "energy wave/blast" (talking about fantasy) and its the italian version of kamehameha... so it's like seeing piccolo and vegeta using their tecniques and saying KAMEHAMEHA!... and this is really lame...

also when shenron revived all the people killed by frieza and his minions, the italian narrator said that even goku was revived.. though goku wasn't dead in the first place..

worst translation ever

Oh, well that makes sense. I didn't realize you were talking about italian. I figured you were talking about english since your english is pretty much perfect.

well, thank you :P

anyway i didn't watch the english version (though i had the chance to see some small clips) but it's really hard that a translated version can be as accurate as the original.. i had all the dragon ball mangas (that i bought about 10 years ago) and it was painfull to watch dragon ball in tv some years later.. especially seeing that they didn't even try to translate it.. it was like they watched the japanese version and just tried to guess what they were saying..

is the english translation really so good?

Not, it's not that great, I just prefer it to the original because it's what I grew up with and got used to the voices. Goku's voice is much better imo. There are some of the same problems though.

Love TFS's parody though. They take the crap and frustration created by bad translations and make it hilarious. Not gonna lie, I actually think that TeamFourStar's Dragon Ball Z abridged is my favorite way to watch it, even though I know it's just a parody.
