Granted there is a lot of fan service, it also has a really good story.
Also the Natsu one is Fan Art and not from the anime itself.

Really gone off Fairy Tail recently. I know it's a mainstream Shounen work, but the amount of cliche is ridiculous. I swear, if I have to read how Natsu/Erza etc win a fight with 'the power of feelings' (actual line from the Tenrou Island arc) or how they 'do it for their nakama' I'll have to drop it.
The author, Hiro Mashima, seems determined to ruin just about every good premise he has with cliches and anti-climactic fights. Some of his ideas are fantastic - tower of heaven, tenrou island training, grand magic games - but his execution is terrible, and it's a massive shame

It actually has good story arcs with not too much "plot" though when they decide to toss it in they really overdo it.

Why the hell is this picture 1.4mb? Freaking terrible for those of us in rural areas and only have access to 60kb/s internet tops.

The anime is to blame for the extra fanservice, and it's gotten to the point is really fucking annoying.
Not to mention the filler content/slower pace.
I blame the animation studio.
The story is pretty damn good though, and surprisingly this show has done something all Battle Manga Shounen aught to do:
Have romance subplots that actually go somewhere. Granted it's not perfect and still stunted but at least some of it goes somewhere.
