I'd rather hear criticisms than praise. I already know why I like the show; somebody tell me why they don't. It's interesting.

It annoys me a little bit. I've recommended quite a few different anime to my friend who also seems to watch quite a bit of it. Steins;Gate, Shingeki no Kyojin, and Shinsekai Yori. He just said that they were **** the next day, and I don't recommend things unless I really enjoyed them. My 2 closest anime-watching friends (that guy included) actually reject things because of their names.
For example, Me: "I just started watching an anime called Chuunibyou demo Koi ga ****** . Gotta say, I'm really liking it so far."
One of them: "Chu- what? Why do you even watch this **** ?"
I'm not exaggerating. That actually happened. I don't mind constructive criticism, but it's pretty annoying when the person criticising is the kind of person who skips looking at the books cover and judges a book by it's title.

Oh, absolutely. I recommend anime to friends all the time, and can understand the annoyance. My friends are as nerdy as I am, though, so my recommendations are scarcely met with disagreement. In fact, I spend more time discussing the positives of shows we've all seen than anything. However, I, too hate worthless and shallow criticism.

I approach anime as a unique form of media, and evaluate it as such. I look for choices in style, writing, animation, music, etc. and enjoy discussing those aspects. So, obviously, "it sucks because I can't pronounce it" would piss me off too.

Also, season 2 and movie confirmed for Chuunibyou. Hooray!
