Description

Ichimaru Gin spent his whole life waiting for the moment when he could kill Aizen but I just noticed something.

To beat Kyouka Suigetsu you need to have not seen its activation...

Gin almost never opens his eyes until after he attacks Aizen.

Bleach may not be the most consistent shounen in terms of quality but that stands out to me as being actually pretty clever.

this is as good a time as any to say that I think bleach would have been much better with Gin actually killing Aizen... the way he survived was pretty ******** imo.

I disagree entirely. I personally really liked the fullbringers because it added a new and unusual group of power-users into the mix and I am galled a little that they weren't expanded upon as much as they could have been.

The problem is not that anything post-Aizen is bad, rather the problem is that Tite Kubo is incapable of writing. The original arcs up to the end of the Soul Society arc were really well made but from there the writing simply declined, as did the effort that went into the manga.

The fullbringer arc, to me, promised to bring characters like Chad, Orihime, Tatsuki, Keigo, Karin, Yuzu and other characters back into the foreground. It stripped Ichigo of his massive powers and placed him on a human level once more. It allowed the other characters to catch up to him and surpass him.

However this was not used to the effect it could have been. Rather than focussing on the human tragedy of the loss of the powers he is very quickly faced with the chance to get them back, thus rendering the entire arc pointless. Had the series been in the hands of a good writer we would likely have seen Bleach go back to what made it so good in the first place, before it became DBZ with swords.

Sadly, that's not what we got and to be honest I think it's actually quite funny reading Bleach week by week now and laughing at all the terribleness. Kubo's ability to create an immersive world is no less present than it has always been but his ability to set stories in that world has become hilariously awful. (Still, at least it's not Fairy Tail.)
