Don't get too attached to it til the viewing figures come out. Ever wonder why Adult Swim stopped airing anime? It's because nobody ever watched it. They would get thousands of more viewers for a rerun of Family Guy instead of a new episode of an anime. This in turn led to [as] not picking up any new anime, which in turn led to nobody watching the reruns and stopping the reruns altogether.

I believe this will last a half a year and be done (enough time to get through the shows and replay them once). Especially considering they have Bleach leading off the lineup. They should have gotten something good like Berserk or something to put in there.

What, the 4 am reruns of Inuyasha? Yea that is just so they fill a timeslot before they go off the air.

They used to show new Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood on Sundays before they ran out of episodes.

It's a vicious cycle. They have to air it at midnight to keep the good ratings for the shows that they are already airing at 9 and on, but the shows on toonami can't get good ratings because it's being aired so late.

I remember back when they used to show the figures on T.V (I don't know if they still do, haven't watched [as] in probably a year and a half now) and there was literally about 50,000 less viewers (if not more) for anime than the cartoons like Family Guy, and this is when they would start the anime at 10 on Saturdays. The fact is, even if people like it, anime just doesn't sell to Americans.

Why can't we just replace the mind numbing shows that the kids are watching? i mean its making them worse right? and we're aiming anime for adults and for adults that never grew up with anime, they won't ever aquire a taste for it. Kids grow interests easily so why not give them the anime? might help us become less stupid.

Different strokes for different folks. Just because it's anime doesn't mean it isn't mind numbing or that it makes them smarter. In the end It's all entertainment. I'm not going to learn anything by watching an episode of K-On!, it's just pure entertainment.

you might not learn anything but remember kids are easily influenced. for all we know K-on could open up an interest in music for certain people. and yeah i admit some animes are mind numbing but most kids anime won't teach kids to act like douches e.g. the regular show.

True but it all comes down to money. American companies won't just allow the Japanese animation companies to just butt in, hell the Japanese companies wouldn't even want to. It might be a good dream but unfortunately it will never happen.

and then again we have a lot of imported stuff. Since anime is from Japan it's going to be imported as well and thats the lest that they want.

just because you love amine doesn't mean that the rest of america loves anime, get over it. it's like saying "i like metal music, so kids today should be exposed to metal instead of rock/pop that they already enjoy"
to each their own is how it should be. the people that like anime are going to watch it, the people that don't already don't watch it
