I never cared much for Lucky Star when I watched it, but it had its moments. Honestly I thought the skits at the end with the pink haired girl highlight of the show and then they ended up cutting the scenes out and putting reality into it. It went downhill from there. I feel like the show was made of too much moe and it ended up diluting the comedy as a result of the characters living mostly normal lives, but having to withstand doing something stupid to increase the moe factor.

And then there are the hardcore fans of the show. It produced an awful nightmare. Lucky Star is a good starter anime, but the cult following it has behind it is way too large for its own good. I'd probably recommend Sakurasou as a starter because it would set standards pretty high despite the show being a bit strong for someone.

"Starting anime" You know that the amount of people that actively pursue this as a main hobby is the exception not the rule, right?

Anyway, I'll find my way out before I start ranting about how much I hate the word "Anime".
Lucky Star is awesome.
