Tbh, I wouldn't thank his editor.
I haven't read it in a while so I'm definitely behind a few chapters, but one of the things I started to dislike about it as it went on is how it was becoming easier and easier to tell who had plot immunity. What I loved about the beginning is how that wasn't really there so much.
After a while it started to feel like it might even go full Naruto on us. I could be wrong so maybe I should catch back up again, but it felt like it was headed that direction more and more when I stopped (which was a couple chapters into eren being tied up in that cave but before they rescued him so basically right when they were fighting the anit-personnel 3DMG people in the cave. )

Some day I hope they find a person/place called Titan and attack it so the english translation makes sense.
