Hikaru and Kaoru Hitachiin are 5'9" in the anime but 5'11" in the manga.

The Hitachiin twins have the same birthday as the Kurusu twins from Uta no Prince-Sama, June 9th.

Manga chapters are usually about 40 pages however Ouran's first chapter is around 50 pages. Bisco Hatori said if the first chapter had been cut by ten pages, Kyoya probably wouldn't exist.

Tamaki's English voice actor is Vic Mignogna who appears in literally every English dub, he voices Zero Kiryuu from Vampire Knight, Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist etc. Vic also sings the English version of the One Piece theme song.

The Zuka Club (zuka-bu) in episode 9 is a representation of the Takarazuka Revue, an all-female Japanese theatre troupe famous for its cross dressing actresses and flamboyant costumes. Takarazuka's performances were one of the biggest inspirations for the style of early Shoujo manga in the 60's and 70's.

Eclair Tonnerre's name means "lightning thunder", Eclair is French for lightning and Tonnerre is French for thunder. Ironically thunder and lightning are the only two things Haruhi is afraid of.
