Luffy's reason for not killing people is a little more hardcore than how you've worded it. Luffy leaves people alive because after he defeats them, he destroys their dreams. To a dreamer like Luffy, living through a life with your dreams crushed is worse than death. It seems like mercy, but to him, it's cruelty. He IS a pirate, after all.

Neither did I, I watched all the dubbed episodes and stopped there and then after I realized how long it takes for them to come out I started reading the manga. I might start watching the rest with subtitles later but for now I'm fine with just the manga.

That happens during the Thriller Bark arc, which would put it between Episodes 336 to 381. That may seem like a wide number, BUT, I know for a fact that it happens somewhere in the beginning of the arc, as it's one of the first things that happen once they reach the island. I'd assume somewhere between 340-350 roughly. Sorry I can't give you more than that though.

(according to a sanji situation, the manga is between 9-11 months ahead of the anime.)

That's one of the things I love about OP, it's been years since the Alabasta arc in both real and comic world. Yet Vivi is still recognized as a crew member by the straw hats and Oda.
Really though, even if she didn't wan't to be a crew member Luffy wouldn't take no for an answer.

one peice is easily one of the greatest Shonen Manga to date. It trumps naruto and bleach by a long shot. My only problem with it is that sometimes it can be too story oriented and I end up getting bored.

1. Luffy didn't like that particular cherry pie. The point of that scene was to emphasize the dichotomy between Luffy and Teach. Teach hated the lemonade, but loved the pie. They both love to pig out like epic fatasses, but they have different tastes. The same is true for their sense of adventure.
2. Vivi and Carue are considered "nakama" even if they are physically apart from the crew. That's why the strawhats silently rose the the "X" on their arms when Vivi asked Luffy if he would still call her his nakama if they meet again. They are "honorary" strawhats.
3. Zoro is borderline retarded, even more so than Luffy sometimes.
4. One does not simply "question" Oda-sama.
5. One does not simply face Shirohige and come out "unscathed".
6. In my theory, Chopper possesses a mythical zoan type devil fruit. Chopper is the ONLY zoan type in all of One Piece to never fully transform. I believe his devil fruit and Kurohige's invasion of Drum Island are related...
7. Akainu will die by Luffy's Red Hawk. "Kicking his ass" is not good enough.
8. And I cried watching it... manly tears of course...
9. I don't think it was Lucci's attacks as much as Luffy's over use of Gear 2nd and 3rd that caused most of his injuries.
10. No where in One Piece does it say that Luffy is opposed to killing. It's an interpretation that he is against killing, even if it's the authors interpretation. Also, we never got a definitive answer on whether Luffy killed Arlong.

There are much more prisoners in Impel Down than the people that we've seen,
or he's simply not dangerous enough to be sent to Impel Down.

Hell, in theory he could have escaped, but the last actual proof we've seen is that they're captured and sent to a prison.
