Nonon Jakuzure from Kill la Kill was originally supposed to have an electric guitar and a punk rock look, the creators scrapped it thinking it would be too much and ended up sticking with a school theme resulting in a marching band look. She would've used guitar riffs instead of classical music.

Sanji from One Piece was originally going to be called Naruto but Eiichiro Oda, One Piece's author, changed it to avoid confusion when he heard the manga "Naruto" was getting published.

There's a reference to the film "Shaun of the dead" in High School of the Dead, a character resembling the main character Shaun is seen in a shop with a cricket bat, Shaun's weapon, behind him. The character's name tag says Simon after the actor Simon Pegg who plays Shaun in the film.

Turns out Rena Ryugu from Higurashi has the best K/D ratio having the largest amount of kills (not taking into account multiple murders of the same person) and having survived the most story arcs.

In JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Boingo uses a stand which can predict the future and oddly seems to "predict" 9/11. You can see a laughing plane and a man with "911" on his shirt. In the 2015 anime the plane is still there but the "911" was removed. Hirohiko Araki, author of JoJo, when questioned was shocked and said that he couldn't remember why he drew it that way it.

To those few people that complain that my comps aren't accurate:
When I look for facts I only use ones which I have seen two or more times to try and avoid off facts, if they're facts I haven't seen before then I try to find a source on them. Before uploading I double check they're correct or modify them to make them correct.

In part 2 I put in a fact I'd seen on 4 websites, about 40 new anime airing weekly that was apparently wrong, instead of moaning animerecommend corrected me.

If I make a mistake with a fact then instead of complaining, correct me and I'll sticky you.

TL;DR Don't complain about mistakes like a 5 year old, correct me

Not really. It's not like they split up in order to fight the same main villain in the end of the arc like they often do. Sanji simply started the next ark a year early.

We seeing that Sanji and co. havent made an appearance in the anime for a while. I was saying that they havent appeared in the manga for more than a year now, so be prepared for a lack of Sanji, Nami, Chopper, Brook, and Momo for at least 2 years in the anime.

If you want to try something probably really unlike anything else you've ever seen in the anime-action genre I'd suggest checking out the manga for Kingdom. Unlike typical action series Kingdom doesn't just have its characters gain new magical abilities as the series progresses, instead it focusses a lot on tactics and the strength of the main character in the series comes more from the number of people he is leading than from himself on his own.

That's not to say there aren't some mind-blowing action scenes, its just less on the side of flash and bang, and more on the side of tactics and strategy. Also, since it's a Manga and not an anime you could probably catch up to where the story's at right now in about a week or two of marathon-reading, since there's no filler.

(Also, this series just OWNS tension! Like, seriously, it makes you want to read on a LOT more than most other action series.)

Magi isn't over. It's a manga. The anime is just being done in seasons so the Manga can make headway and so that it doesn't need to be full of filler and stretch each episode out to ridiculous lengths.

I like Fairy Tail for it's action, and it's got a great soundtrack for it too.

World where there's magic, MC still punches the crap out of people.

If that ain't actiony fighty, then I don't know what is.

I'd be careful before you try Fairy Tail. The action is really poorly thought-out. The effects are great but the fights are poorly choreographed in places and the plot revolving around them (along with the narrative within them and their resolutions) are often really unsatisfying.

Like, there's a point where there are two villains that have been built up throughout the whole arc as being total badasses and they lay an unholy smackdown on two of the protagonists but then one of the protagonists is just rudely kicked out of the fight by the other and he goes on to thoroughly kick the two villains arses without breaking a sweat. Then those villains come back yet again later in the arc and get beaten really easily.

And there's one character who hasn't lost a single fight in about five years, maybe more.

In terms of action FT is all flash and no substance.

Doesn't matter if he had second origin or a second cock, regardless of how he did it he still curb-stomped the people that were meant to be the villains of that arc half-way into the run.

"No substance" was a hyperbole but still compared to its contemporaries FT falls waaaaaaay short of the line. Take for example Kingdom. That manga came out at the same time as FT and it has some of the most depth to it's conflict and characters and world of any manga out there, rivalling that of One Piece.

Compared to pre-time-skip Naruto Fairy Tail has less developed characters with less character-conflicts. Compared to One Piece it has less creative and bombastic action and the friendship message isn't conveyed nearly as well. Compared to Bleach the over-the-top action where one guy just curbstomps other people (which was one of the few things in Bleach that when it happened it was always done right, despite how crappy it could be for the narrative).

Fairy Tail is all concept with little actual narrative meat to it and the biggest flaw of Fairy Tail, the one that makes me loathe it beyond compare, is that it could so easily be good. It has some great character designs and could easily develop some really cool and wonderful characters and that seemed to be the way it was going near the start but then after the Tower of Heaven arc everything stopped... it fell into a cycle of:
+ 1 New Slayer.
+ 1 New Villain who turns good.
+ 1 New fight where Erza completely wrecks the enemy.
+ 1 New appearance by Gerard that actually doesn't serve to do anything to the plot at all.

I really wish the series had a better writer because Hiro Mashima came up with something that has the shades of greatness about it but stinks of crap. I really wish I loved Fairy Tail less than I do but its comedy (when not ridiculously poorly-timed) gets to me and I love the art-style, but as a man who demands more from his entertainment it really galls me that Fairy Tail is as 'nothing' as it is. There's nothing unique or interesting about the way it spins its narratives and it is obscenely cliche in so many respects and I really feel like the characters deserve better than being obscenely curvaceous objects for fanboys and fangirls to fetishise over. *sigh*

Eh, well I mean I just kinda enjoy things to enjoy them and I'm not that picky (doesn't mean I don't appreciate really good shows though).

I'm not really trying to defend FT per say, I'm just saying it's not horrendously bad to the point where it shouldn't be watched by anyone. There are shows that fit that bill, and FT isn't one of em in my eyes. Of course it all depends on taste.

It's more like a, I kind of like the show and you don't. I respect that. And I'm not discrediting the downfalls of the show, I just don't really care much for em'. I will say I'm not a big fan of the fanservice crap that's been happening throughout, and I do wish they fleshed out some things to make this shows potential shine better.

I'll just roll along with it, no matter how bad the ride gets. Guess that's just part of my carefree attitude.

Uh... what part of "I wish I loved Fairy Tail less than I do" was lost in translation. I can't get enough of this awful series. The ***** parts make me laugh, the good parts make me laugh. It is without a doubt one of the most satisfying series I've ever read, just for mostly the wrong reasons.

I'm kinda in the same boat as you there. Every single thing that's wrong with Fairy Tail irks me beyond belief, but I just can't ******* drop it. I don't know what kind of ******** Mashima puts into this series that makes it so... eh... Not nearly as good as it has the potential to be but still something that I can't stop reading. It's cheesy, the friendship thing is ******** , everyone is overpowered and Lucy is retardedly underpowered, it has asspulls in it more than a teenager girl has brands of nail paint, and all that crap, but ****************** I just keep reading and reading and I enjoy it. More than I should. Same with Bleach.

Maybe it's the magic and fist fighting that sucks me into it so much.

I read bleach because it is honestly just so bad it's good at this point. I follow a podcast called 'Weekly Manga Recap' and they go over all the manga released that week (well, the ones they cover) so they do Fairy Tail, Bleach, One Piece, they did do naruto but now Boku no Hero Academia has deservedly taken its place.

That podcast makes all the difference for me. Often I just end up skipping past the parts they dedicate to going over a full manga series in review and right to the recap portion because honestly that's where all the lulz are.

You can find all the relevant manga chapters on that site too. They'll note down the number of the chapter at the beginning of each segment so you can find your way around.

My favourite action anime is Berserk. A story about a man or lost his friends and family with no idea what to do with his life and doesnt care if he dies, and becomes a general for an extremely ambitious man he admires greatly. Dark theme, great fighting, good characters and lots of character development and a pretty unique story that even makes you think about life. The two down sides I would say are the animation is quite dated but you get used to it after 2-3 episodes. The anime is pretty much the prologue of the story, so if you wanna find out what happens you gotta read the manga. Literally, its about 1/10 of the story and the anime ends on perhaps the biggest cliff hanger there has ever been 9.5/10

Attack on titan - There's a reason its so popular. Good action, engaging unpredictable story, pretty unique, great pacing. Animation is really, really well done. 9.2/10

Kingdom - Animation is kinda weird at first, but you get used to it pretty fast. A story of two slave kids in 450BC china who dream of growing up and becoming legendary generals and so train all their lives to prepare, first episode covers age 8-17 or so then the story begins when they are old enough to fight properly. Very tactical military based anime with lots of action, good characters and unpredictable story. Gripping first episode, slows down a little mid season, picks back up and gets epic again, season 2 the epicness continues to grow. 9/10

Claymore - This one is pretty good, but the ending is very rushed since they got 1/2 into the story then tried to rap it all up in the final episode due to lack of episodes. Woman with a dark past is part of a demon hunting organisation. Goes around fighting demons and saving civillians before realising the organisation she is part of might not actually be as good alligned as she thought. Good action, nice monsters to fight, Characters are good, not too much advancement though. 8/10 Might wanna not watch the final episode and start reading the manga.

I am not a big anime fan at all, but with the exception of Claymore which is simpley good, the top 3 ones are some of my favourite things I have ever watched.

I've actually watched two/three episodes of Dog Days and been rather impressed so far by the combat. I haven't seen much, obviously, but... I dunno. The main story and the protagonist could use a little bit of work, and it's a little cutesy, but they've been good with fight scenes. The 'combat', however, isn't critical so far. There's some kind of 'spell' that keeps people from actually getting hurt. They just turn into animals, full animals rather than just having animal parts. I have yet to see what the main human character turns into if he gets hit, though.

Gintama is heavily recommended. It's mostly comedy, but the action arcs it has are always worth the watch. It has very brutal combat that can, admittedly, get slightly repetitive but overall it's great. If you only go for action, though, then you'll be sad to know the show doesn't pick up its big action arc for awhile. But the comedy up to that point is great.

I some what enjoyed Blue Exorcist... but I wouldn't recommend it. They apparently cut out like... 60% of the manga and rushed the ending due to lack of funding or something.

Anywho, don't really have any good 'action' suggestions that haven't already been suggested... I mean, I guess Kill la Kill if you haven't watched it. It's heavy half-naked action.

Fist of the North Star (gore goodness)

I'm sure there's a lot more I could recommend but I'm mostly a manga reader, so I can't think of the anime off the top of my head. Honestly because you like Naruto, One Piece, and Bleach, you will definitely enjoy Toriko.

I hope they do season 3 of Index more up to the standards of the novel. Compared to other anime, Index's anime was good, but compared to its own novel it was pretty damn bad. Its novel has consistently gotten in the top 4 best novels for the last 5 years, 1st once, 2nd twice, 3rd once and 4th once, and in the last 11 years it was in the top 10 seven times.

For a very good example of the difference in quality, compare Kanzaki's fight during the Angel Fall arc (volume 4 of the novel, can't remember what episode of the anime, should be about halfway through season 1).

Oh, and Boku no Hero Academia. That one's a more typical action series. It's less than a year old at this point but it's basically a superhero high-school with all the creativity of One Piece and all the tension of pre-time-skip Naruto. It is easily gonna end up taking Naruto's place in the Shounen Jump Big Three as there's not a single series out there at the moment that can compete with it for that spot. It is very quickly rising through the ranks and gaining more attention and it's probably gonna end up getting an Anime series in a few years once it's had some time to grow (but that shouldn't stop you checking out the manga whilst it's still young.)

Also, Asui Tsuyu is a frog-girl... and she's ******* adorable.

Try Gunbuster, Kill la Kill, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Bokurano, or Busou Renkin. Roughly the order I'd recommend them in. You could also try a Gundam series, maybe G, Wing, 00 or 08th.

I think I would of enjoyed it far more if they played it out longer (the first arc). There were so much it could of done, but it felt so rushed when they ended a show on one floor and started the next twenty floors higher only to suddenly beat the last boss on floor 76. They could of even done a few episodes about klein and what he used the revive item on.

Kind of wish Fairy Tail would end soon.. and I guess it might, but sooner. The writer is making the same mistakes he made in Rave Master with the whole 'friendship' thing and the lack of anyone being useful but the main character. Like... some of them have their days, but usually it's Natsu running in and blasting everything. I mean, I get he's the main character, but there has only been... two? character deaths, counting dragons as 1 since they died at the same time, and neither were important. And the reason I point that out is that despite everyone being rather weak and losing a lot... No one dies. Plus he did the revival thing twice in that manga. One with a character that was the main bad guy turned good guy... And then one with a character believed to be dead since the start of the manga... And she never did anything useful after she was 'revived' either. I expected her to be like Natsu's partner, since she was in the past, but she did nothing. And then the recent 'time skip' was just so... Bleh, I dunno. Seems like it's another manga like Naruto where I'll just read it to see how it continues to burn. <(' '<) I don't like being so negative.

That's all the ones I can think of at the moment that I prefer as manga to anime. Call me a critic but I think Trigun and Hellsing work a LOT better animated.

Of course Mirajane would win. Erza is a former-badass main character who now gets Worf'd every 5 seconds, and Mirajane exists primarily to Deus Ex Machina the living **** out of whatever Mashima needs her to. This is excusable because Mirajane's fight scenes are awesome.

oh fair enough, but in all fairness erza's still crazy strong.
I'm not sure i remember when she last got worf'd but from her battles she's still wrecks most people.
But in the manga It's ******* ridiculous, she loses all of her senses to a demon and wrecks the demon's **** cos of her heart etc. i like fairy tail but the whole frindship thing goes way too far at times
