hi so uh can we talk about how Indira' s whole Thing is uncomfortably,
disturbingly close to eugenics. literally, it' s essentially eugenics without actually
saying the word itself. 'science unrestrained by morality for the advancement of
the human race' has quite literally been used in real life to justify horrible,
unspeakable things that have been done to peeple
far blizzard doesn' t seem be framing meira with any redeeming qualities
or as sameone the audience is supposed sympathize with, which is good,
the thing is: if they' re gonna even HAVE meira in this game, they need to keep
that up and make it clear that she is not a good persin and we are not
supposed to sympathize with her. being able play frem her perspective, like
having a story from the perspective of an evil character, can be used in a way
that isn' t disgusting depending on how you frame it. if the character is
portrayed as an abhorrent person, sameone who is not to be with.
it HAS to be dene right and a lot of [ample in the fandom need to sit
down and listen to the peeple affected by this. i was really pumped about meira
too, til i realized all of this. ts a new character, new healer, we all love
overwatch, i get it. but no one dare this person.
for now, we' ll have to be aware and see what becames of meira, but it needs to
be made clear: what she' s vouching is eugenics, and that is never, ever a
good thing, never ever an acceptable thing, and everyine should be aware
of this, acknowledge it, and act appropriately.
