It's really not that bad. If anybody's ever stepped on your foot accidentally, know that it's only slightly worse to have your feet run over while wearing shoes. I don't really want to think about what it would be like if you didn't have something between your feet and the asphalt . Between the surprising malleability of the human body and the (relative) softness of tires, it really doesn't do any damage.
I live in East Europe and saw last week some asshole/idiot cop that had enough space to stay in his lane but chose to cross the middle marker while there was an incoming truck ( all this at speeds of ~100 kmph), the truck flashed his lights and the cop pulled back in his lane at the last second like some movie scene.
I've heard stories from older people that cops used to be real dicks and abused their power back in the communism era. But now most of those assholes are gone..... most >_>
1) The cop car was on the wrong side of the road
2) A lot of people over here stop in the middle of the street when it's two ways, because you don't ******* expect some dick to be snaking down the road.
In a way, both, but mostly the cop. You have to stop if there's someone on the cross walks, but the guy should have been more attentive.
I mean, I definitely can say no one expects to be rammed into by a cop car if they're innocent, at least but I think it's hard to really trust people on the road nowadays. I've seen so many people do so many stupid things and I barely drive around.
Saw a guy come up a ramp towards a bridge, for instance. There was someone ahead of me to the left of the ramp and the guy on the ramp just rolled right in front of him despite the large 'Yield' sign on his side. If the guy in front of me hadn't been attentive and hit his breaks, he would have been pushed right into a truck that was coming down the opposite lane.
the cop car is not on his side of the road, he was in the oncoming traffic lane. he also should have fully stopped to someone on the crosswalk. the man walking should have been more attentive he turned his head at the wrong time. i say the cop is 95% in the wrong
Oh wow, i didn't notice that. You're totally right.
The cop is driving on the WRONG side of the road, with the sirens off. isn't that a criminal offence?
Of course i understand they're allowed to break traffic laws when responding to an emergency, but don't thye also have to activate their sirens to indicate as such? Isn't this exactly why sirens exist?
