/fit/ in a nutshell

No amount of muscles or definition will make a difference if only one person in the tussle knows how to fight.

Okay, well if you're up against Hugh Jassman the professional bear wrestler, and you look like you're ready to box your way out of Auschwitz, then maybe not. But knowing how to fight is definitely worth more than muscles in most cases.

FJ in a ******* nutshell, content is about /fit/ getting in a fight, comments is a fight about grammar.

At the start of the holidays it's the traditions for our company (we're a building company) to celebrate (we go to the pub and most of us get drunk of our asses, aside a few who disappear in the early hours and stay sober).

In the pub, a bunch of buffed up guys started making fun of our boss, who's overweight, but a cool guy. Then one of them made the mistake of pulling his chair back, causing him to fall.

Now, before I continue, just know that there are 35 of us in there, and they're with seven, buffed up bastards. One of us goes over to help, while two others push the guy back, followed by them immediately getting hit. (they were more drunk than we had realized, and extremely violent).

I'm one of the thin guys of the group. Compared to everyone else, I'm weaker (still a good deal stronger than the average Joe, we do nothing but heavy physical work sixty hours a week after all), but I did practise Karate and still do on a regular basis, and am a lot faster and more agile then the rest of my colleagues.

I got up close with one of them as things further escalated. You can be as strong as you want, if you push away the punches using technique rather than brute force, it's quite easy to win, especially if your opponent is drunk and not thinking clearly. One deflected blow, him being surprised, and I got the chance to land three clean punches in his face, then kick him in the stomach. (yoko-geri, pretty nasty if you can grab the guy's arm before kicking, as it lands fairly on the side, and with more power than anyone likes to be hit with).

Then our company proceeded to beat the ever living **** out of them, before calling the cops.

Muscles are useful, but can never make up for technique, skill, experience, being ready for a fight, or being outnumbered by five to one. It's not like fights in movies. Out there, people will hit you all at once, and you're beaten down without being able to do anything about it.

Tl, dr: Pick your fights properly.
