All that being an open or closed system means is that energy can flow in and out. Energy comes into the Earth from the Sun- which is why entropy doesn't increase on Earth. However, it does increase in the Sun, which is why the Sun won't last forever.

We didn't evolve to do it, because there's no need to evolve to do it. Evolution adapts life to suitable morphologies to survive in the conditions they are are. Earth happens to have an atmosphere, and if it didn't, life probably wouldn't have evolved anyway. As a result, animals evolved to survive on Earth. They didn't evolve to survive in orbit or in a vacuum, because there is absolutely 0% reason to do so.

No, because evolution isn't guided. It doesn't occur with foresight. We are the only species to know that the Sun will eventually engulf the Earth- spiders and cats and whales don't know. And even if they did, their individual genes and mutations don't, and it's not an immediate problem.

It's why you end up with some bad flaws in the structure of animals- because evolution works to get the quickest, most useful results to adaptations in environment. It does not plan, it does not know anything about what it will have to work with next. Evolution and natural selection is a Blind Watchmaker.

Because whilst evolution works as fast as it can, it cannot happen in a single organism over the course of a few years (or even decades). A good example would be how human beings separated out from the rest of the apes (the tree of life branched off) somewhere between 2 million years ago, and it's taken about that time to get from our earliest 'human' ancestors to the modern human. That might not be the quickest, but it's fairly quick for evolution.

Along with that, evolution doesn't work on individuals, it works on genes and populations. The definition of evolution in Biology circles is nothing more than 'change in allele frequencies over time'. Evolution doesn't care about you, as long as you can survive to reproduce, and the genes which use you as a host (read The Selfish Gene for more information on this) can be passed on.
tl;dr, Evolution doesn't care about your hobbies, it works on survival over generations, and we can swim just fine/build tools like boats in order to avoid swimming being a genetic necessity.

Scientists a century ago, unsurprisingly, had very little of the modern evidence we have today- it's both obvious and expected that the theory has been modified to account for new facts- that's EXACT POINT of science.
The current theory has nothing to do with lightening striking water, not that the original hypothesis involved water at all really (it was supposed to be a chemical slurry, not water), but is more closely related to volcanic activity giving heat as a catalyst. This is only one of many theories, as Abiogenesis is a reasonably new study.
That said, it also doesn't say that it combined randomly to result in a living cell by chance. Carbon atoms, for example, willingly form complex bonds and chains which are common in life for as far back as the fossil record can provide, and carbon was abundant on prebiotic Earth. It's far more likely (and more widely accepted) that the first 'living' thing was living by todays standards, but instead would have been a primitive replicator, an ancestor of DNA or RNA, which evolved into its present form over millions of years, slowly becoming more sufficient.

Once again, the most modern laboratory is unable to create a living cell. Now, this is true. However, modern laboratories have been able to create many of the 'building blocks' of life such as amino acids, and today, scientists have been able to successfully create artificial DNA which replicates itself. Leave DNA on it's own under naturalistic duress and with other elements around it for 2.5 billion years, it will evolve on it's own. That XNA (if you had actually bothered to read the link I gave you) has already begun evolving minor changes, and you can see how several thousand minor changes over a long period of time add up to large changes.

Although, you are right, doesn't come close to actual life. And that's because it's only existed for less than a decade. If the XNA had actually formed living eukaryotic cells and 'living' beings in such a short time, it would actually be proof AGAINST the current evolutionary theory, and would require the theory to be modified to fit in with new evidence.

In short, actually read the fucking evidence I gave you and then do some research, or admit that you don't actually care about the truth, and that you're happy with being ignorant.

Also, there are NO missing links. If you look up the fossil record, there have been no gaps that you could reasonably call anything troubling for at least 25 years. You are behind the times.
Also, those similarities you speak of, do you mean those 98% identical chromosomes/DNA similarities? The ones which we share with Chimpanzees?
Or do you mean that you think there are 'no transitional' fossils which show transition from one species evolving into another? If so, look up Tiktaalik, Haasiophis Terrasanctus, and you can find several others out there (including the lemur-monkey transitional fossil, 'Ida'.)

As I said, just because there once were similar species doesn't mean we evolved from it.
There are still many gaps in between. It'd be short-sighted to conclude we evolved from lower species.
