The media feels that women will make people buy their products. American media, anyways. Women are more attractive and just more appealing to the eye than a man. And what better way to make people buy their **** than to put a half-nude woman in their advertisements to make money?

CupcakeFish I completely agree with you, beautiful point.
I have spent the past four years of University studying Fashion Marketing and I did my placement at a place very similar to Harrods (London), and I worked on the shootings for their Christmas Magazine - one of the models was like 16, she looked pale and ill until they got some make-up on her, and got the right light on - she looked in the beginning of her 20s in the pictures that were taken. Today (2 years later) I am still mind-blown about the whole thing. Photo-shoots are not glorious in any way, and nobody gave a **** about that girl. And as I said; I saw that girl and she was nothing special until after make-up and air-brushing, I have seen the process from start to end, and after I actually felt better about myself, because I'd rather be my 5"11 with DD and a size UK10 than a skinny, ill-looking girl.

Excuse me while I go give myself thumbs up in the mirror, squeeze the twins, have a beer and love myself. Peace

STOP; Layer time!

Here, I've actually compared the two images. To the naked eye, yes, they look the same. However, this is not the case. In the first row you can see the edited parts in red.

They have elongated her face, removed the slight wrinkling below her arm as well as removed the 'shoulder' behind the arm. Her belly button as been lowered, her boob has been tampered to be round and 'bigger' and her hip has also been smoothed out. And for some reason they lowered the bikini lines.

NOW, skip to the last row. I have overlayed each layer. The one on the left has the 'after' image on top. You can see the change in the face really easily now. You can see some faint differences, but the face is the only thing that really stuck out.

The one on the right, however, has the 'before' picture on top. You can see more changes now. Her entire body has been slightly shrunk. If you look at the arm you can see that they shrunk it a bit.

So yes. While your naked eye might not pick up on all the changes at the first glance, if you really look there are a lot of subtle changes. This woman was beautiful already, but they removed any 'flaw' and changed the proportions to fit the 'better' standard.

TL;DR: At least look closely at the changes before you run around screaming that fat bitches are just full of **** about how they air brush the flaws out of the models.

And also, just sayin', EVERYONE should be able to feel pretty. It doesn't matter what you think about them.

Putting fat people, or any person, down because of how they look is ******* useless. If you're fat and people make fun of you for being fat, you're just going to get depressed and get fatter. I'm not saying you need to glorify them, but don't make them feel like a piece of ****.

I've been overweight for a while. I chose to stay inside for five years to escape horrible bullying. It's a choice I take responsibility for and all that. But the more ****** people made me feel about myself the deeper I went into depression and the fatter I got.

As soon as I seen myself as something more than a piece of ****, then I picked up and started getting healthy. I've lost 50 pounds so far and am losing more. All because I started seeing myself as something worth taking care of.

50% of magazines tell women how to look pretty.
50% of magazines tell them they look fine who they are.

Women logic.

I have never read a beauty magazine that did not hold both an article on how you are beautiful no matter what size or shape you are, then a two page advertisement on their own diet plans and what make up will make you beautiful.

I don't understand this ****.

Oh, here we go, opinion on funnyjunk.
I usually hate to quote, but this one citation stuck with me for a long time now.
"Why do you care how somebody looks, unless you want to **** them?" - Eminem (yeah i know). To be completely honest I think, that all this controversy about women's looks exist, because people are irrationally preoccupied with other's appearance due to their own insecurity (and they are insecure, because people judge on appearance - it is a vicious circle).
You are a fine example OP. What the hell do people's looks to do with the legitimacy of their opinion? Yeah, feminism in western countries is sometimes retarded, but judging it based on the looks of the feminists will not help.
Hope this makes sense, as i am tired and not a native speaker. Have a nice day.
P.S. I am not a fat feminist.
