How is this making fun of the British? In fact, I like them in this story.

If anything it's making fun of Americans ("the world revolves around me"-comment), but it's good hearted and funny. This is how it should be.

You don't have to be offended to see it as being offensive. For example: I'm not a black guy, but I know racism is offensive. The post was, in my opinion, offensive, but it just made me roll my eyes. What Gustamelusta said was no more offensive that the post itself, if anything it was less so. This goes to show that while the Brits can laugh at themselves, American's are lil' bitches.
