No, contrary to what you may believe, there was FAR more to RS than just pking. That's why there are so many non-combat skills. There was still a large userbase until 2012, because many of us played it for questing (and they did restore Pking/free trade in 2011).

RS died when American investors bought it, and tried to copy other games to make money from it. Adding micro-transactions and trying to make it like other games rather than using its own strengths.
These days the front page, which previously reported on updates, is now always talking about the 200 million prize you can get by paying money for micro-transaction gambling.

When I quit (after SoF revealed it was pay-to-win, making a minimum wage job faster exp than playing the game), there were regularly over 100k players, and often over 200k during high times.
Now 50k is a good number (only 38k at the moment).

2007 version, ******* dope. The only cancer in here is that god wars is coming, and some players who only started after 2008 or something, and want every new update that came. Hopefully it won't be ruined with too much new content, but for now it's goooood.

Seriously, the knowledge the players had during the 'second time around' is more harmful to the game than any update like this. The way things are manipulated for maximum efficiency now isn't how the game was played then, quit being a self righteous 07 fag and accept some updates.

It's true 07 is different because everyone knows the game and exactly what to do, but this is gonna lead to more and more of the same content that was released in 2008 and so on, ruining the whole first intention of OSRS. After GWD comes out, people are gonna whine that they don't have enough inventory space for bossing, and then everyone is gonna cry for summoning to come out. Already now people want the GE because they need a noob friendly trading system, then there's also the kiddies who want the rest button cause they can't train agility and are used to having everything handed to them on a golden plate.

New content is gonna make OSRS spin out of control. While it may keep the amount of players higher for a while, it's gonna be worse in the long run. I bet that in a year or two from now, it won't even be the same game.

But hey, I heard RS3 got a cool skill where you stand still in one place and collect free xp, doing absolutely nothing. That's so awesome.

"It's true 07 is different because everyone knows the game and exactly what to do"
You've already acknowledged the fact that it's a different game. It was never meant to be a replica, anyway. If anything, it's just an over-glamorized private server.

>Nightmare Zone
>The Kraken
>Clan Wars

These are content updates being implemented into the game. It never was and never will be what you people who want EXACTLY what they had in real 07.

Also, a lot of the changes are minor and are in no way capable of destroying the precious integrity of having to click more than once or god forbid walk like you so desperately want to have to do all the time.

Except for crashing prices on some herblore ingredients, NZ isn't affecting the game much. Kraken isn't confirmed. GWD got 89% yes votes, which proves how many 2008+ babbies there are, or to be honest I even believe the votes were frauded seeing as the majority of forum posts were anti GWD. Clan wars is just an alternative to clan pking in the wildy, but I'm not a clan player anyway.

So far the actualy GAME itself has been pretty much the same. The major problem is just the community. So many people come from 2008-2012 RS and never started before 2008, so they're to used to all the content in that time. I played between 2005 and 2007, so I'm perfectly fine if they kept the game where it's at content wise, even without GWD and the GE, and summoning (those were the 3 cancer updates in late 07 that started RS to its downfall).

>"Desperately want to walk all the time".
>Learn to agility and energy pots. (what's the point in training agility with RS3 babby features that let you recharge it faster anyway?)

Okay, ******* lol'd hard. "Crashing prices" and "pretty much the same"

So far they've only permanently changed how supplies were collected in the game, brought back plenty of updates and made the game convenient with all of the small patches like 1 click banks, search options and edgeville respawn. It's already changed, your precious view of the perfect 07 scape is already ruined. Quit acting like a self righteous 'oldfag' if you will. A lot of people recognize that the game will need updates, and are acting on that now. Regardless of GWD coming into the game, it can't do anything but be an improvement. It's worked before on the real runescape.

"Downfall" - You do realize the game will never stay populated forever?

Agility and energy pots = ******* lol. As if you have room and money for energy pots for everything. Have fun with your *********.

I don't mind the small tweaks to make things a bit more convenient without making it too easy. As long as there's no big changes that make certain skills or items redundant.

GWD is confirmed, but is coming out later, and yet it's already made lots of existing boss loot items crash in price. This is pretty much how what is now RS3 got it's economy shat down the toilet.

OSRS wasn't meant as a new game to evolve like the live game. Somehow jagex forget that, or it was just the tens of thousands of EoC babbies trying to play 07 but finding it too hard, and thus cry for updates to make the game easier. The argument is that the population will go down without new content. Personally I call BS. It's already got enough to keep someone playing for 3+ years, plus if all the babbies went back to their easyscape RS3, it'd mean the people who 07 isnt for them were weeded out. Quality of players in the community over quantity. I'd rather have 10k players that are 2001-2007 rather than 500k where the majority is 2008-2012.

And yes, 74 agility (probably doesnt seem much with RS3's way faster and easy xp gainz, but agility is slow as fook to train on OSRS) and a couple of thousand super energy pots means I never have to walk. This is the problem with you RS3 babbies. You encounter a challenge in your game, you need updates to remove the challenge and have it easier. If you hate walking, train your agility and stock up energy pots. Problem solved. No crying for easy mode features.

Oh sweet jesus there is so much fault and contradiction everything you've said.

1) *MANY* items in the game are already devalued and redundant because you always want the top tier stuff in the game. For example, all tools below rune are useless after the skill requirement is met besides treasure trails (which don't make a valued impact anyway).

2) GWD literally can't devalue items or make pre-existing boss loot items crash. Depending on how Dragon Boots are implemented into the game, rune boots and nechraels should still be relevant. Any other boss loots like the rings from DKS will rise in value for demand of best armour.

3) OSRS was meant to be changed. Jagex has stated it's not a complete replica and it was meant to be toyed with and changed for the players. You complain about "EOC babbies" (I can tell English is not your primary langauge). Us "EOC babbies" are just doing that - Playing eoc. We're not bothering your precious game or changing it in any way. Any updates brought upon 07 are brought upon by existing players in your player base.

I guess it's true, us EOC babbies can't even get 74 agility or buy enough energy pots.

*cough cough* this all coming from a maxed player with over 500m xp and 16m agility xp *cough cough*

Yeah, sorry. I just can't handle the hardcore slow xp style of rs07.

1) Yeah, I'm totally gonna use items below rune when I'm almost 7 months into OSRS. They're still the same-ish price anyway.

2) Rune boots will crash due to dragon boots replacing them as the best melee boots (not to mention str bonus).

3) As I already told you, I don't mind the small tweaks and improvements. Just big new content like GWD are too drastic changes.

And congratulations. You're maxed stats in an easy mode version of RS where you can get millions of xp per hour in literally every skill and it's still AFK-able. If I continued playing from 08 I'd be maxed total too. Don't you get like a few dozen K's free xp each day anyway from spins and what not? Or literally every tiny thing you do ingame gives you achievements and gold and free xp? Yeah, getting max total seems like a big achivement in RS3. Do I even need to mention how long RS3/EoC/Live RS has been out? So you're 500m total xp in a game that's been out for 12 years, congrats. Even if you started playing in 08 or something, ndb.

And there's one thing you're enormously wrong about, EoC players in 07. Tons of people quit when EoC came out and went to 07. All they really wanted was pre-EoC 2012 RS, but settled for 07. Then they miss all the easy mode of getting everything handed to them, and you know the rest.

And yeah, getting **** done in 07 is actually more rewarding, because it's not just press one button and AFK a million xp per hour. Same with moneymaking. 100M is nothing in EoC. In OSRS you do skilling for hours to get 1M.

Just face it, RS3 is pure AIDS trying to copy WoW, and the community is even worse. There literally doesn't exist another game where everything is handed to you as much as RS3. Even CoD campaigns played by 8 year old kids aren't as bad.

1) It proves how everything is about efficiency and speed, what is the best. It goes for most other items too, changing the cost in relation to use. This effects all items, therefore making it impossible to have items that AREN'T devalued (which is what you say you want, because you dislike things becoming devalued).

2) Jagex proposed Dragon Boots be created by combining an item that upgrades rune boots with a new item to make dragon boots. Thus, keeping rune boots and nechraels relevant (if not boosting rune boot prices) and making the drop valuable itself.

3) Change keeps your precious player base, which, if you haven't noticed, ALLOWS you to even play the game in the first place. If you ever use any new content or updates, you're breaking your whole argument. Good luck keeping that.

4) "Millions of xp per hour in every skill and it's afkable" Okay, please make a new Runescape 3 account and reach 2595 total in under a week and tell me everything is so incredibly easy. "Dozen k's free xp each day" - No. maybe 9k gold/day (if even that), if anything this new skill has prevented me from gaining xp since it's all calculated differently.

5) Runescape 3 has a larger player base than OSRS, it's more updated and it's the primary game of Jagex. People definitely did NOT quit RS3 for OSRS. People quit over divination, they couldn't play osrs.

6) Nothing on osrs is rewarding, I got my untradeables within a month of the game coming out and it's boring as **** already.

7) Good luck skilling efficiently and getting over 1m/h.

Just face it, OSRS is pure AIDS trying to copy RSBuddy/2006rs and the community is even worse. "here literally doesn't exist another game where everything is handed to you as much as osrs"

******* LEL. have you ever heard of bots? they're doing the bitch work and you get your **** handed to you. Those 100k logs you needed to get 99 fm? I wonder how they're so cheap...

1) Supply and demand, I know mate.

2) They had a poll to drop an item instead that would be added onto rune boots to upgrade dem into d boots. Only thing is it didn't get voted yes.

3) A classic old game doesn't need to be changed to keep it's player base. Look at Counter Strike 1.6 for example. People play it for it's good old simplicity and no need for change.

4) It's cool how jagex is allowing both RWT and gambling ingame with spins. Even walking to a place gives you achievements and bonus xp and gold. It's ridiculous.

5) RS3 has the quantity of players, but not quality. Even with all the babbies from 08-12 in OSRS, it's still a better community than RS3.

6) Congrats, you're another combat pure who raced for the items like b gloves, torso, rune defender, fire cape in the first months. You're now a part of 90% of the pking playerbase. Original.

7) I heard divination is standing in one spot, clicking once, then collecting xp for a few minutes, then repeat. Everything is way faster xp than 07, and more afkable anyway.

I dont' care for private servers, mate. And bots are in every MMO, RS3 too. And it is ******* stupid with Jagex spending more effort on new content rather than getting rid of bots. But why would I get the most useless 99? Let alone the fact that I barely bought any major resources that are popular with bots. I collect most my **** myself anyway.

<--- This is pretty much the most AFK thing you can do in OSRS, but it doesn't even touch a fraction of the xp rates in RS3.

So this is my last reply. Have fun buying spins in your cheap WoW knock-off game. =)

1) A classic old game doesn't have variables like a game market and economy like runescape. Counter strike has a set number of items, many less than scape. People don't play for simplicity and not having any change. That's why scape is one of the most updated games in history, bruv.

Jagex doesn't allow rwt, however they do do small microtransactions, which is healthy because it allows jagex extra cash to put towards things like updates that need paying for or the war on bots.

Rs2007 community is full of **** , don't even try to act like either community is better. It's all apart of rs, regardless of eoc/07.

I got the untradeables because they were the best and i grinded for them, dont act like they only have a single use (pking). that just proves your single minded horrible "this is the best and its only useful if its the best" mindset. It just makes everything that isn't top tier dead content.

You also act like rwting isnt huge as **** in rs07. You have any ******* idea why they bot 07 so heavily? Because it makes the most money you stupid ****.

**** is afkable in rs, and many other games, don't act like it's incredibly bad that thats how its afk.

If you want to talk about how bad your xp rates are because you think it makes you any more entitled, you can suck my dick because over 500m xp > 7 months on rs07 or any amt of time on it really, since i predate it with this account.

Also just spewing **** about micro transactions and how you dislike the player base is making you look like the piece of **** community you're a part of.

GG, no re.
