We in Canada love you. Your duke and duchess of Cornwall just toured our country. Its just so exciting watching the day to day itinerary of two old people touring a country pretending like they care :P

Lol Canadian Dominion can't get out of English
User avatar #113 to #112 - steffanacus **User deleted account** (05/24/2012) [-]
S'all good. At the end of the day the Brits have been good to us--unlike the French who abandoned us and the Americans who wanted to take our land :P
User avatar #114 to #113 - thomasaquinas (05/24/2012) [-]
The French were shot out by us Yankees and Englishmen . You are going to join the North American republic one day Canadians and then we can reunite those families broken by the revolution and all have a nice dinner.
User avatar #116 to #114 - steffanacus **User deleted account** (05/24/2012) [-]
A nice fancy dinner indeed! The reason why I say the French abandoned us is because of the sentiment felt in Québec. The lose to the British at the Plains of Abraham and the later giving up of most of France NA territory to the Brits in the Treaty of Paris was seen as a total abandonment by French Canadians at the time. The results of the Battle of the Plains of Abraham is still a hot-topic in French-English Canadian relations today, and actually helps to fuel Separatism in our french speaking province of Québec.

France was more interested in taking over Europe than it was keeping the land it had in NA. No big deal, as I said the Brits have been good to us :D
User avatar #119 to #116 - thomasaquinas (05/24/2012) [-]
The Acadia expulsion is a black mark on your confederation so is the shenanigans in newfoundland .The separatists are always upset you didn't set the capitol in Quebec city which honestly the old city would make a nice throne . My family was driven out when the English took over went to America and proceeded to help the revolution kick the English . But the NAU will take all of mainland North America and add Greenland , Iceland and the Caribbean Islands to one great Union .
User avatar #120 to #119 - steffanacus **User deleted account** (05/24/2012) [-]
The NAU is inevitable. Resistance is futile :P
User avatar #123 to #120 - thomasaquinas (05/24/2012) [-]
Of course it is the republic in America is a 50 member strong group and we welcome our Canadian brothers to us . Perhaps you will be the ones to cool the fires
User avatar #124 to #123 - steffanacus **User deleted account** (05/24/2012) [-]
Although NAFTA was very unpopular in Canada, and any giving up of powers to our American allies is usually seen as giving up our sovereignty here in Canada, so the NAU would cause a HUGE amount of controversy. Methinks there would be a counter-movement within Canada, and Québec will get its first real chance at separation.
User avatar #125 to #124 - thomasaquinas (05/24/2012) [-]
Lol we will invade Quebec and storm the plains of Abraham and beat the fuck out of those whiny brats. You will just be switching seats from a dominion under her majesty the German to an Equal seat with us . Canadians i have meet always justify their difference as being not Americans

See, now isn't this nice? Why can't FJ get along like these fine exemplaries?

If our governments get along just fine, I'm sure we can, too.

For someone who serves queen and country, I should probably know this kind of stuff
User avatar #99 to #90 - Jenisist (05/24/2012) [-]
An American here with some questions.
From what I've seen, many British people love the Royal Family, like, I'm not sure. It's kinda strange if you ask me. The Queen doesn't even have much control in the government does she?
Not trying to be rude, but why is the Royal Family so worshiped? (I'm not sure if that is the word I want to use.)
User avatar #111 to #99 - steffanacus **User deleted account** (05/24/2012) [-]
Canadians seems to equally "worship" the Royal family as well seeing as she is also our Head of State. In Canada there are Monarchist and Republican (not 'Mericah republican, but the term's true meaning) movements who both call for the retention and abolition of the Royal family in Canada.
User avatar #134 to #111 - Jenisist (05/24/2012) [-]
Yeah and hasn't Quebec been wanting to break away from the rest of Canada since they love France so much? Or at least that's what I understand.
User avatar #135 to #134 - steffanacus **User deleted account** (05/24/2012) [-]
Québec has wanted to break away since the quiet revolution in the 60s, but it was mainly influenced by conscription during WW1 and WW2. French Canadians felt it was wrong they were being forced into fighting a war they had no business taking part in.
User avatar #136 to #135 - Jenisist (05/24/2012) [-]
In history books you never hear much about Canada during WWI and WWII. It's a bit of a mystery.
User avatar #137 to #136 - steffanacus **User deleted account** (05/24/2012) [-]
Perhaps in American history books - We were in WW1 from the day the Brits declared war, and we declared war not long after the French and Brits did in 1939 against Germany.

We actually had a bit of a reputation as shock troopers in WW1
User avatar #101 to #99 - CorporalObvious (05/24/2012) [-]
You've seen wrong, most people, while fond of the idea of the royal family, don't care for it much. We like to think the royal family's important but in all honesty, they're relics that make a good tourist attraction.

Being a military man, I'm obligated to be all for the queen, being commissioned by her and all..
User avatar #110 to #101 - steffanacus **User deleted account** (05/24/2012) [-]
I was in the Canadian Forces for 3 years and had to take an oath to serve the Queen as well :)

Good on you serving your country :)
