Most places require firearms training in order to carry a firearm, if that's what you're talking about. If you're talking about knives, well i can't imagine the straight-up badass who carries around a knife for self-defense, considering the mental fortitude it takes to kill or wound somebody with a knife. And if you're talking about pepper-spray or tasers, then those don't normally kill so, what? Nunchucks? A biker chain?
