I don't know how to change a tyre because I've never owned a car, have no interest in cars, and don't plan on driving until after I graduate Uni. **** me, right?

I doubt you'll even graduate if you can't even spell tire...

There are more ways of spelling than the American localization, you know.

I think that is how it's spelt in the UK and such, but I'm not 100%

Get jack
Place under car, near wheel, on chassis
Jack car up until the wheel is off the ground.
Undo nuts in the centre of the wheel
Remove old tire, put spare on
Put one nut on, and follow up by putting on the opposite nut until all nuts are tight
Drop car back onto ground
Remove jack
Do the dinosaur
Go about whatever shenanigans you were doing.

Problem... If you don't undo the nuts partially before lifting the car, it'll be a bitch to do so.
"Un-tight" them a little, and then lift the car, it'll be easier =]

Loosen the lug nuts before you jack the car up. It makes it easier to get them off if they are rusted and you can step on the tire iron to loosen nuts. Don't stand on the tire iron while the jack is in the air.
