The Middle East went that way. In the 13th century they still preserved knowledge and culture while Europe slumped into the Dark Ages after the fall of the Roman Empire. Gradually the West learned to improve and adapt, the East just fell apart and started blowing **** up.

Here's the thing about 'Murica that Europeans often forget to consider: Our government sucks at literally everything. America is pretty cool as long as you stay away from anything government-related.

That's also why we can't have some of the government-provided goodies that Europe gets. Like, we have the money for about three universal health cares, but the government can't even deliver the mail without racking up a multi-billion dollar debt. Everything our government has ever done to improve health, education, income disparity, and so forth, has only made it worse--which just makes them think that they need to do more.

I mean, this is the same government that is simultaneously spying on our phone calls and calling pizza a vegetable--and yet Europeans still wonder why Americans don't trust big government.

It's not the best, but hey man, it's not too bad (aside from that debt). There's still some good things about this country.

"have to be 18 to **** "
The age of consent in the US varies by state. The majority of them have it at 16, though California notably has it at 18, which is probably where this misconception comes from.

>only three states allows gun ownership at 16, and none of them allow gun purchasing at this age
>only 12/50 states have their ages of consent set at 18, 8 of them have it at 17, and 31 of them have it at 16 (this is counting DC, that's why there's 51)
>agree
>ban got lifted
>most gold medals in Olympics
>agree
>implying the US isn't still one of the largest technological countries in the world (Apple, Microsoft, etc)
>I've been through both the European educational system, and the American one. And the European one is **** tier compared to ours.
>we learn about evolution in schools here. When I was in Europe, we had bible classes. Some surrounding schools even made it a mandatory class.
>European healthcare system isn't perfect. When I was there it took your **** for brains doctors 5 months to figure out and treat a simple fungal infection, which nearly lost me my leg.
>Because European countries didn't join in on the wars in the middle east

tl;dr, Eurofags gonna Eurofag.

Interesting fact about our education system: Although our education system is ranked #17 in the world, if you don't count the bottom 20% of students, we're actually #1. What does this mean? It means that most of our education problems lie in the poorest 20% of schools, and if you don't count that, we're actually the best in the world.

That doesn't mean we don't have our flaws, which we definitely do - it just means our education system's not nearly as bad as everyone says it is.

But... If you'd not count the bottom 20% of students in other countries as well, wouldn't it mean you'd still be at around #17?

I feel like the media and the internet really give a false impression about America to a degree. Sure most of this is true, but its really not bad at all. America is a great place to live if you know where to live. I've been all over but I do love Canada. Those trees and snow...mmmm
