I sometimes wonder if this is actually the reason that 4chan (mostly /b/) raid and shut down other sites. Maybe every once in a while they think "Hmm, there hasn't been a good porn thread in a while. Maybe we should raid another site."
Then they go and raid 9gag or tumblr or some other easily butthurtable site and soon... BAM! The other sites "Raid" /b/ with porn. Contributions everywhere, butthurt all round and 4chan has a decent stock of fap material for the next few days until the threads expire.
Either that or the 4chan just enjoys raiding other sites for the fuck of it and the porn is just a bonus...

True, although /b/ isn't that funny any more. It used to be hilarious and although you may still find the odd nugget of comedy genius every once in a while, nowadays it's just porn, "rate my dick" threads and boring conversations about random topics (which is probably what makes it the random thread).
It's sad how much it's deteriorated really. There's a lot more crap on there nowadays and a lot less quality contributions.
Mfw /b/ nowadays.
The rest of 4chan seems ok though. I'm guessing the original /b/ community moved to the other boards after /b/ became too "mainstream".
