Personally I don't like the USA or the UK because everyone of us are constantly fighting over which country is better.

Once I get the money I'm leaving my country.

Meh.. it just annoys me to see wanton hatred of the British by the Americans, and it pleases me to see them get mad when we point out that the only time they ever took on a major world power in a straight up 1v1 fight their capital was sacked.
But thats all history, we are brother in arms now, America is actually OK.

I wouldn't exactly say a fair 1v1 fight. England's resources were vastly greater than the US's.

The war began in 1812 when the USA invaded Canada.
The actual burning of the public buildings of Washington took place in 1814, after the defeat of Napoleon when the British had veteran troops to ship over to the USA.

If memory serves me well, I'm pretty sure they were Canadian born British soldiers that burned down the White House. It only makes sense that one would send troops from the closest neighbouring area...

Nope, the Canadians were holding the line preventing the Americans from overrunning Canada (and they did a damn good job and won some outstanding victories as well), but it was a detatchment of British Royal Marines under Major General Ross who burnt Washington.

Actually the American people very much supported the idea of Manifest Destiny.
