I think the quote comes from the mother's testimony in court. Nobody believed her and she and her husband were jailed for eight years before evidence was found that in fact, dingoes had eaten her baby.

In fact the trial went on for almost twenty years, only very recently did they decide that a dingo did not take her baby. In fact it killed the dingo then went on to become Steve irwin
