I've been to Sweden a couple times - most people speak English there. They all learn it in school these days. They all speak Swedish to each other, though, and are quick to comment about how annoying and difficult it is to have to translate everything to English for you (at least my family). The older folks don't speak it at all, though. I tried to learn Swedish at one point so I could talk to my Great Aunt (or something - my great grandfather's brother's wife...) who doesn't speak any English.

Well, the story is told by a fin. although I'm assuming their English shouldn't generally be worse than elsewhere, maybe this one guy ****** up. , or maybe the cleaning lady had bad English, like in post >>#21
