How many feminists does it take to change a light bulb?
It doesn't matter. Feminists can't change anything.

I'm happy to see so many green thumbs for my comment, thanks for the support, FJ!
Special thanks to feraltoast and mrchubs.
But to respond to the Feminism argument...
Though I joke here, because A) It's goddamn funny and B) It's ******* relevant, I do support feminism and equality for all. As a college student, much of what I study (psychology, philosophy, and sociology) is focused on women's rights, racial equality, especially with regards to interselectionism. I don't feel as though this particular joke detracts too much from the feminist movement because it does speak to the lack of unity among many feminists, mostly due to the multitude of aspects of feminist theory, and I also feel that it is important that people learn and practice to laugh at themselves.
As a feminist/man supporting equal rights for all people regardless of race/gender/etc, I'm also poking fun at myself here.

well that sucks a lot cuz feminism is about achieving gender equality (and believe it or not. little known fact. this includes goals that benefit men too for example getting rid of the belief that men have to be macho or else they're not """real men""". feminism isnt just the feminazi "GIRL POWER KILL ALL MEN" stereotype) so please dont say gender equality will never be achieved that is extremely negative

He didn't. Also, feminism is the believe that females are superior to males, it is the counterpoint to misogyny. Actually wanting gender equality should be striving for equal opportunity, not equal output, as that would be ridiculous and LITERALLY impossible. We are a sexually dimorphic species and as such there are fields in which women will never be as useful as men, and the opposite is also true, there are fields in which men will never be as useful as women. The day we learn to celebrate those differences instead of trying to crush them will be the day when true equality is achieved.

Feminism is absolutely not the belief that women are superior to men. There are most certainly a lot of people who define themselves as feminists who believe this, and I will not even for a moment deny that. Those people are walking ****, though.
From Wikipedia: "Feminism is a collection of movements and ideologies aimed at defining, establishing, and defending equal political, economic, and social rights for women. This includes seeking to establish equal opportunities for women in education and employment."
And if you honestly think women have an equal standing in society, you are one of the following:
- In denial
- Angry at women
- A woman dealing with internalized sexism
I don't know if you have ever listened to most management types, but they are usually some of the more sexist people I have encountered. If I weren't a male privy to a lot of conversations, I probably wouldn't believe it, either. I am not a woman, you know. But I have worked in a wide range of industries, and I think I can recall literally only one entirely gender-neutral management team. I've worked in janitorial to media positions. It's the same.

I agree that equal opportunity has not been fully realized, however, the bar has traveled so far in some areas that it is no longer about equal opportunity. Look at the amount of false statistics presented in the media, look at all of the female-specific programs to provide them with cheap college and provide an onus onto employers to hire women through tax breaks, regardless of that woman's capabilities vis a vis the job in question. Look at the fact that almost 50% of domestic abuse is done by women, and yet this fact is commonly hidden in our society. Look at all the occurances of falsified rape claims in our society, trust me they are not even close to all discovered. Look at the fact that men are not allowed to sit near children on national airlines flights. There comes a point when equal rights are no longer the goal of an organization fighting for the rights of one group, and that point flew past us a decade ago.

I totally agree with the second part of what you say about men and women having different strengths but I just wanted to point out that feminism is
not
the belief that females are superior to males. The aim of feminism is to "define, establish, and defend equal political, economic, and social rights for women." (taken from wikipedia) In other words, it aims to get women the
same
opportunities as men but never says anything about wanting
better
rights than men. In fact, because it's about creating gender equality, there are lots of feminists (myself included) who also see improving men's rights as an integral part of the feminist movement with stuff like paternity leave and making the retirement age the same.
tldr: feminism
isn't
'I hate men! Women are better! We should have all the rights! All men are rapists!" It's fighting for gender equality so that both men and women are treated fairly and aren't affected negatively by stereotyping.
(sorry I wrote so much)

On the surface, yes, but were that the case being a "feminist" would be pointless, instead you would be an "equal rights activist". "Feminist" implies a specific concern for that gender, which has already gained superior protection and advancement under the laws of most western societies, so if you continue to identify as a "feminist" when equal opportunity has already been achieved, you are showing a lack of satisfaction with said opportunity, instead being driven to equal output, which is a fallacy that twists an ideology that was once a good thing into a path to a gender biased autocracy (although it's clearly obvious that the vast majority of people who identify as feminist don't actually think that way, generally they probably think they are still victims of society thanks to the extremely effective feminist propaganda machine currently wrapped like a serpent around our society, or alternatively they simply think it is synonymous with equality which is again the position of someone who is simply not informed of the reality of the situation.)

I really dislike the word 'feminism' and massively prefer "gender equality" but I just wanted to point out that technically feminism isn't the belief that women are superior.
It's true that in the US, Canada and most of Europe the gender equality situation is vastly improved but there are still a lot of ways in which it has a long way to go- in protecting men as much as in protecting women. Also, it's a little narrow minded to think that the western world's gender equality situation is good enough so we should just drop it now. I'm currently living in Japan which is generally considered a well developed country but women are expected to quit their job when they get married to dedicate themselves to looking after their husband whilst men are expected to be the earner.
I don't know what country you're from but having grown up in the UK, I really don't feel that there is an "extremely effective feminist propaganda machine currently wrapped like a serpent around our society" and actually think that there's a lot of problems that no one picks up on, or at least don't complain about. That could just be that we've grown up in different places though.
