I don't understand.

I laugh at all kinds of jokes, but this one I found really sad.. Why just this? Why not 9/11 or Utoya or other holocaust jokes? Hmm..

My best guess is because we're feeling sympathy for the survivor. "All his friends are gone" is just much more hard-hitting and personal since it reminds us that he's a human that's lost so much. Sad, ain't it?

Actually the Windows XP and 7 versions you are able to hit a bomb on the first shot. The Ubuntu and Linux versions do prevent that from happening, though. I'm not sure if Apple OS does that (or if they even have a minesweeper, I don't own a Mac).

Hit Shift and Enter at the same time,
Minimize all application windows that hide the desktop. The uppermost pixel in the top left corner of your desktop will turn black when you mouse over a mine, and white when it's safe to click.
